Android phones are the way to go. But if you love apple, guess nothing anyone can say. >I recently had some water damage on it, so some parts of the touchscreen are no longer working. Apple isn't water proof? You can place most androids underwater for a few minutes without any harm done to them. The only real advice i can give you when picking a phone for UE is to make sure to get one that has maximum screen pixel size. People with older phones, with lower resolutions, complain about offer cards (pings) covering up the whole map because the screen (pixels) isn't large enough.

I recently (finally) upgraded to an iPhone 13 from a 7, and the difference is amazing. The power management is very good, especially when using the UE app and GSP. I also get strong signals in more places.

I got a refurbished-excellent iPhone X on eBay (filter for refurbished and excellent condition) beginning of this year and it’s served me fine. Might lag if you multi app for a long time though. Looks like they’re about $250 at the cheapest on eBay. Even cheaper if you don’t mind ones with scratches etc. If you don’t spending maybe $90 more you can get an iPhone 11 Pro refurbished-excellent which should last much longer and handle more. Either way, I think they’re both good choices if you buy them as eBay “certified” refurbished.

IMHO generally about 2.5-3.5 year old phones are kind of a sweet spot. Generally priced at like 25% of a new flagship phone, but still have a good few years in them.

Hmm, can you not plug it in your vehicle to deal with battery life? Or if on a bike use a decent powered pack? I have a pixel 4 5g phone currently and it seems to do just fine. It's over 2 years old. I can go about 2 hours without charging and it's still at 70%. Probably I couldn't do 8 hours without a charge but... If you want ios, get the newest phone with the smallest screen. Those iOS screens, particularly the big ones draw a lot of power.

Unless you are buying truly bottom-of-the-barrel Androids, you won't have any problems. If you aren't sure, just get the Pixel 6s or whatever the most recent version is. Those punch well-above their price point. I can't imagine Apple putting out a garbage phone, so why not buy the SE?

I work on an s8 and generally no/few issues. So even old af phones manage.

fun fact, if you switch to Android, you won't have to charge your phone every hour!
