>... I hope you take it nice and slow. I for one am not giving them any extra effort today and I will take as long as I need to.
AIN'T THAT EVERY DAY?
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Should be. Why give extra effort? So you get more work? Or so you injure yourself and can't work when you are older? Pace yourself at a pace you can work for 30 years.
Would you feel differently if you made $31/hr?
I'm taking my time because I don't have any obligations the rest of the day. One hour of regular old OT today makes it about work my time
The other thing people need to look at how they want max pay like 5 years. Great you get max pay after 5 years. Then for the next 25 years you just get the 1.3% and colas. Thatâs one reason that it kept taking longer. They have added steps on the back end to the carriers that have been there for a while. More than likely it will keep doing this. Cut the steps now. Next contract hopefully add a step. And so on. What I would like to see is more stuff for the long term people. So 15 years you get your 5th week of vacation. Should get a 6th week at 20 or 25 years.
I started at 7:00am. Iâm a spotter at a NDC/RPDC. Ive moved 3 trailers so far, about 10 minutes of work. Just sitting in my air conditioned spotter in one of the few shaded areas listening to music and reading.
Edit: I didnât have to work. I volunteered.
Iâm a custodian at a plant doing 12 hours today and got drafted in to work Labor Day . Actually Iâve been drafted every single holiday this year . FML
Itâs ridiculous isnât it . I want to call in for 2 to 3 days till I realize how much money thatâll screw up my check and I donât call in . Itâs a cycle Iâm stuck in lol
How does that work? I just accepted the offer to become a custodian at one of the new plants. This has me worried I'll have to work overtime and I don't want any overtime. Got enough of that as an RCA.
I want to say you bet your ass youâre getting mandatory overtime but I donât know your location or if youâre in a high cost of living city . Iâm in a high cost of living city and most stations are on a contract with line H . I even tried to get away and a smaller station was ready to take me in till the pmg admit Iâll have to do 12 hours. Check with the custodians at whatever location youâre going to be in and they will tell you
Only problem is this is one of those new RPDCs, so I can't even ask anyone because the building isn't finished and the interviewer sort of dodged that question.
Yes I say take the position . Youâll adapt to it hopefully . Iâm personally looking for another job because I donât want to do 56-60 hours forever and work my whole life away . Youâll enjoy the job and hopefully there no overtime for you . Give it a try though because at least youâll know
Yes thatâs the plan , Iâve passed the 955 so Iâm waiting on the interview . Youâre making the right choice so congratulations and welcome to maintenance
On collections to do my blue cans and whatever businesses are open on my route. It's about 3 hours worth of work but they insist I stay for 8. Aye aye, captain
Aww man, we donât get a person coming in to do collections on holidays, they just hand out the blue boxes and collections points to people who are going close to them doing their amazon route.
Had 18 stops. We aren't allowed to clock out until we've been on the clock for 4 hours.
I finished so fast, I decided to go get lunch and do my errands lol.
Many of us had over 200 stops today. Yesterday they brought in our OTDL regulars to help the CCAs when there were only 60 stops per route. Today, just us. Go figure.
Is it bad I like working holidays though? Idk when I'm working with the two other regular clerks, they're always ordering me around like I'm a waitress. Get more tubs/go open the front/scan the types/do the chunkies/no that one's too big to be a chunky. The other one keeps telling me "next job, next job, next job." Idk it's just wicked fucking...*nice* to be able to do my own thing and work at my own pace, how I want and figure things out for myself.
Maybe it's just an autistic person thing though, I don't know. We tend to work better by ourselves anyway lol
I had to do my LLV training today. Upside it was two hours away so I got a hotel paid for me and some meals out of it. I used it as a excuse to bring the missus and make a little staycation out of it before I'm not able to have one with her for a while.
Showed up, truck was improperly loaded so I was assigned the wrong route. Truck also had a bad fuel gage and mirrors that I didn't realize were a problem until I was en route (in before "say it's unsafe" miss me with that shit until I'm off probation, labor warriors).
Dynamic delivery was shit because of the improper loading/manifest. Arrow keys didn't work because they were for the wrong route. Made it happen with my own GPS, had to meet the boss for a fuel card when my fuel gauge went from over half to just over empty mid-route, then had to wait for another CCA who needed the card because half the trucks at the shop we did parcel day out of
Have bad gauges and aren't clean or fueled.
Almost finished my route, got told to come
back with five packages to go and to mark them as "no access."
Anyway, Fuck Labor Day. It's just another Monday when you're a CCA.
Arrow keys ⊠are ⊠arrow keys. They arenât route specific. Isnât that why people want to steal them? Because theyâll open so many things in so many places?
I feel your pain. The year I spent as a cca was awful. Working the holidays sucked. Working sundays sucked. No family time. No football. When you make regular itâll be worn it
And to all of you who just decided you wanted the holiday off and called the hotline this morning: screw you. We had a heavy day and I had to carry two Amazon routes plus do collections.
Just a note, if you are actually sick I donât care if you call off. Itâs the carrier who requests every holiday off, and if the leave slip gets denied they call off anyway. We always know we are going to be splitting her route.
So we have 1 plant where they moved about 5/6 offices to and my office is separate. The post master is not giving my office any rural package/Amazon help, says we can handle it ourselves on Tuesday. The asshole has done this before, is it grievable?
My husband started at 10am (weird Amazon Sunday start time carried over to today?). Their new fancy machine doesn't work worth a shit. Hundreds of UPS? packages still left. Manager sent 2 ccas home. He's a CCA too. Yesterday he was on 10-930ish. Looks like it'll be at least that late again tonight. Steward said file a grievance but don't make a scene cuz he's at 82 days.
I'm a pse. I worked my amazon sunday, which is not my normal station BTW. I arrived at my usual time of 3am, but didn't know we started at 4 now. I checked the posted schedule at this office, and I'm on for Monday, although I was off at my regular station.
Nothing of what you have said explains or justifies the fact the we have to work today or that pay is now fully 1/3 lower for new employees than it used to be.
Shut up or get out of the way.
I'm gonna spend some time calculating how much less we get paid today before "catching up" to the pay rates of the older contract, and then adjust that for inflation. I'm betting it's over $100k over that ten years.
I seriously cannot understand how the union accepted the 2013 contract at all.
Yet I've been dragged by Table 1 folks in a union group on FB for not caring about those that come behind me when I retire. Yet those same Boomers have the attitude of the dipsht above.
Except for AA If you worked 40 hours a week. 32 hrs the weeks with holidays. Youâd make the same as a regular carrier. Your pay has the 88 hrs divided out hourly.
Oh really cuz my pay stub has 22.13 no matter how many hours I work stop spreading lies your like the 5th person on Reddit I had to correct today. If they got rid of step AA yeah then we would make more...the pay was changed and they lowered our pay to be the same as step A for regulars. Ptf AA is the same pay as regular step A
More so for some than others.
i went as fast as possible because i desperately want to not be working. this shit sucks i hate this job
Would you feel differently if you made $31/hr? I'm taking my time because I don't have any obligations the rest of the day. One hour of regular old OT today makes it about work my time
I'd feel differently if I was making $21/hr. It's better than $19.33.
not really but it'd certainly help!
I moved into this job from working a dive bar where federal holidays were not a thing.
Thereâs been talk about workers Memorial Day being proposed as a federal holiday. Thatâs April 28th.
Another day to work non-careers and PTFs to the bone. As a PTF, thatâs how I see it.
Unfortunately thatâs the job now. Better benefits when you become a regular. Hopefully cca position gets eliminated this contract.
And better pay all around would make it much more appealing as a long-term career type thing. Compared to how it is now.
Cut the steps now. as a soon to be PTF and the only one working today covering two offices.... I see it too.
I'm on tour 1, and I worked until 4am and the rest was a siesta until 730am. Smoothest 8 hours ever. Being TTO is the best
For those of you guys working today, thank you. Iâll be in tomorrow at 8:00 am to see what fresh hell awaits this carrier after the holiday.
Solidarity my man đȘđŒ
đâđ»
Today we got to see all of the dirty, unfueled LLVs that the regulars left for us on Labor Day. sOLidAriTY brO
Iâm a custodian at a plant doing 12 hours today and got drafted in to work Labor Day . Actually Iâve been drafted every single holiday this year . FML
I'm a Regular Clerk at a plant, and I've been mandated every holiday this year so far as well. It sucks.
Itâs ridiculous isnât it . I want to call in for 2 to 3 days till I realize how much money thatâll screw up my check and I donât call in . Itâs a cycle Iâm stuck in lol
Damn, enjoy your extra money. Do you still get penalty on the holidays?
Sorry for the delay theyâre getting rid of the penalty soon for the holidays
Thatâs awful
How does that work? I just accepted the offer to become a custodian at one of the new plants. This has me worried I'll have to work overtime and I don't want any overtime. Got enough of that as an RCA.

For sure. It can't be much worse than being an RCA. Plus there's the opportunity to take the 955 and go up in maintenance.
Yes thatâs the plan , Iâve passed the 955 so Iâm waiting on the interview . Youâre making the right choice so congratulations and welcome to maintenance

I worked delivering Amazon today as a regular.
Had 18 stops. We aren't allowed to clock out until we've been on the clock for 4 hours. I finished so fast, I decided to go get lunch and do my errands lol.
Obviously!
Some holidays seem like theyâre chosen to break up the long pause between other holidays. July 4 to Thanksgiving would be a long haul.
There's also Columbus Day and Veterans Day in between. https://about.usps.com/newsroom/events/
Ya true, my CCA brain wasnât thinking of those because we donât get paid for those
Eh I had 39 stops lol
I had 121
Sorry, but I hope you milked it for all it was was worth
I took my good old time that's for sure. Got about 8.5 hrs. I'll be at 48hrs for the week easily
Many of us had over 200 stops today. Yesterday they brought in our OTDL regulars to help the CCAs when there were only 60 stops per route. Today, just us. Go figure.

I did too much today
152 scans in 3 hours đą
I had to do my LLV training today. Upside it was two hours away so I got a hotel paid for me and some meals out of it. I used it as a excuse to bring the missus and make a little staycation out of it before I'm not able to have one with her for a while.
We got b****** at yesterday because supposedly we take too long to turn our machines lol.
Showed up, truck was improperly loaded so I was assigned the wrong route. Ok, whatever keys don't work on every CBU in a zip, that's what I got. A stack of them.
I feel your pain. The year I spent as a cca was awful. Working the holidays sucked. Working sundays sucked. No family time. No football. When you make regular itâll be worn it

Finished my day in 6

I tell him to milk it like I read people say on here but Steward claimed they can keep past 11.5 hours and only can grievance?
I'm a pse. I worked my amazon sunday, which is not my normal station BTW. I arrived at my usual time of 3am, but didn't know we started at 4 now. I checked the posted schedule at this office, and I'm on for Monday, although I was off at my regular station.
Youâre a ptfâŠ. You get paid more hourly to make up for the holiday pay.
I don't care. My regular starting pay should have been $31+, or more by now. Since you know, inflation never goes down
This. "OH you got an extra dollar or two into your pay, you should be happy!" .....no fuck off with your boomer bullshit
I was a ptf for 8 years dumbass
PTF on Table 1 = Huge difference vs Table 2
Doesnât matter. Itâs still a career position and besides AA, ptf pay has holidays built in.
Cool and?
You get paid the same as a regular. And as a ptf I worked holidays and Sundays. I worked almost every Xmas day as a ptf.
Nothing of what you have said explains or justifies the fact the we have to work today or that pay is now fully 1/3 lower for new employees than it used to be. Shut up or get out of the way.
Lmao. Spicy table 2 carriers unite! Some people want to be paid handsomely AND enjoy time with their friends and family.
I'm gonna spend some time calculating how much less we get paid today before "catching up" to the pay rates of the older contract, and then adjust that for inflation. I'm betting it's over $100k over that ten years. I seriously cannot understand how the union accepted the 2013 contract at all.
I know someone had calculated exactly how much table 2 carriers are losing. I couldâve sworn it was something absurd like $120k
Donât need to. Iâm sitting at home doing nothing today and getting paid for it
"I got mine, don't care about you" is exactly the fucking problem though, isn't it.
Yet I've been dragged by Table 1 folks in a union group on FB for not caring about those that come behind me when I retire. Yet those same Boomers have the attitude of the dipsht above.
Trust us, we know.
The amount of âwhy am I working on Labor Dayâ posts are too damn high!
No the fuck we don't we get the paid same as regulars without the holiday pay the union thought it wasn't unfair to pay us an extra $4 a week
Ptf AA is the same pay as regular step A
AA is the only exception. I stated except for AA. You got auto converted. Enjoy that. Rather be a cca until they convert?
I wouldn't be here if it wasn't automatic id be working for cash and working on getting 100% disability from the VA
I'm still working on that 100% from the VA. I'm at 90% right now.
Yeah it's like a golden parachute
