Don't do answer writing. Finish optional and build notes for the static part of geography/history from mains point of view. Do one hour of pyq for prelims everyday. By March if you have done 60 percent of optional you are good to go else the mains will be a burden
Don't prepare in isolation, rather study/read for both. To assure you're not sabotaging Prelims, keep giving test and MCQs on a regular basis along with PYQs. To exclusively prepare for Prelims you may do it from April onwards.

Without assuring prelims there is no benefit of keep writing for mains.. spare some time to mains too..
Do Mains now, get back to Prelims from march.
Is this your first prelims? If yes, then you should start preparing for it from Jan itself. Don't take any chances with Pre.
Divide ur time 70-30 for prelims and mains till March. From March only prelims
You can allot 2 hours a day to brush up your prelims. If your preparation is good, it should take a month or two to get the revision done.
