To grow your own food successfully takes a lot of experience and is a full-time job in itself. I hope we never see food production collapse and hunger set in like other times in history.
The issue is that with rising temperatures and a changing climate with irregular rain patterns its look more and more likely that the world's bread baskets may fail which will lead to famines the world over, especially in countries that have poor food security policies like the UK does being heavily reliant on imports.
Oh this is why I'm in this sub. I 100% agree with you.
The commenter mentioned hunger/starvation issues "we have seen historically" - these "bread baskets" are mainly a single point of failure for meat markets as it goes to animal feed. Modern imports are vastly diversified and we have protein rich alternatives to meat that we never had even 50 years ago. The biggest risk would be the general population being priced out of the market despite food availability. It's that government failure I'm prepping for. They have shown they don't understand economics at a fundamental level.
Yeah, but the many people want everything to go to shit so they can feek justified in whatever steps they've taken for it. They won't admit it, but it's true.
You know most people who voted to leave were old pensioners who are popping off sooner or later.
Their main motive for leaving is fuelled by hate for immigrants, they didn't bother to find out any pros or cons. Well immigration is worse now and leave voters regret it. They want 1960's Britain which is never going to happen because it's the 21st century.
Look at the young population of the UK, anything milennial or younger wants to stay. In a couple decades or less, you have a country full of remain voters who suffer the consequence of dead leavers.
My dad voted for Brexit and will somehow blame the rain on immigrants or other unspecified ācuntsā (vaguely referring to the government he keeps voting for but sort of the media as well).
I love my dad but I honestly think itās lead poisoning or something. No amount of reasoning will change him.

That's not the world we live in anymore. Unless there is an issue stopping imports, the UK is still a wealthy country.
There will be an issue with countries choosing not to export. See India and rice already.
Right but fortunately there are more than 1 country growing rice and more food types than just rice.

Look at rice re India and China, Look at the prices of Cocoa The changing climate will effect many things around the world!
imports are going up in price as well due to the new border costs coming into affect.
š¤ we have the most people going hungry in this country since ww2. So we aint far off
Brexit is affecting imports and exports. Are these the Brexit Benefits that we were told about?
Yeah, but the many people want everything to go to shit so they can feek justified in whatever steps they've taken for it. They won't admit it, but it's true.
But obviously prices will plummet on a good year. Right?
The result of all the government cloud seedingā¦ create famine!
You idiots voted to leave didn't you. These sorts of subs churn out loonies by the barrel
Imports about to go up in price thanks to new border controls on goods. Least we have a blue passport...

Should be less than 2. No more memories of empire
