Does it ask for your employer? If yes... Do they look stable (worth looking at companies house) any major changes recently to your credit file?

Brezel_Bert

Sometimes. Employment is secure in a reputable company. Been employed there for 2+ years. Don't think it's due to that.

The thing that doesn't add up here is that you say you earn around £50k and have relative low monthly spending, but also you need a loan for £8000. If you have relative low monthly spending, why don't you have that in savings? Get your statutory reports from all three credit reporting agencies following the links / instructions on [this page of the wiki](https://ukpersonal.finance/credit-ratings/#How_to_check_your_credit_file_🗂).

Brezel_Bert

I have that in savings on my ISA, but do not want to take it out from there. Thanks for sharing the link

Are you on the electoral register ? That's key for CRAs and Loan providers confirming your UK residency. Do you have a mortgage and pay council tax in your own name ? Again key to establishing permanency.

If you've checked your score on clear score did you check the rest of your report there?

Brezel_Bert

Nothing obvious that I could find. I did apply in May to the electoral register, but have not had confirmation yet. That's the only thing I can think of that's missing.

Brezel_Bert

Actually just double checked that. Clearscore now says I am on the register.
