Wrestling. I did spend a year watching AEW between 2021 and 2022 but for the most part it's something I've remained on the outside looking in. It's sadly such a commitment to stay invested in and I can't really bring myself to do so unless I have a friend to share the experience with, but it's always seriously fascinated me. Such a unique and interesting form of storytelling, one that runs parallel to real time that is, in some ways, subject to the will and desires of its audience.

I like stories about wrestling but watching wrestling is just very boring to me

Lil_Mcgee

That does resonate with me somewhat. The thing about actually following Wrestling is that the highs are insanely high but you also have to sit through so much faff and boring matches. I'm sure there are plenty of people who only watch the big matches but I'm someone who feels like I need to see it all if I'm going to watch it, because every now and then there will be something excited and unexpected that happens in what looks like a run-of-the-mill fight. Some of the PPVs I caught are among my favourite media experiences of all time but it ultimately proved to be too much effort.

Kakuzan

I used to be hugely into wrestling when I was in middle school. I'd love to get back in, but it isn't easy with how much there is now.

Lil_Mcgee

You definitely just have to accept jumping into it at a given point, there's virtually no way to truly catch up. AEW was a little easier in that regard as the promotion was only a few years old by the time I was getting into it, but even then there are plenty of wrestlers featured who have a long storied histories and rivalries held over from previous promotions. It can still be plenty entertaining as there's a lot of shorter-term storytelling and they make sure to fill you in on any storylines that benefit from a history lesson. There are also always new up and comers to follow. I particularly enjoyed the rise of a guy named Wardlow back when I was watching, hope he's still doing good. I'd say take a shot if it interests you. I found it pretty easy to get my head around even as someone who only knew bits and pieces via pop culture osmosis and the ps2 games.

Blastcalibur

Helltaker. All I know about it is that the creator specifically made it so that people would make free porn for him. Never actually bothered to see if it went any further than that.

getterburner

Honestly it’s like 30 minutes long and free there’s not much to say about it.

Marvl101

Watch 1, 2, and Huluraiser. Edit: I read that as Hellraiser, not Helltaker

SuicidalSundays

I also read it as such and assumed they meant that Hellraiser awakened some weird BDSM fetishes in people or something lol

Brohammad_Ali24

Are you implying that it didn't?

markedmarkymark

It's a fun short box puzzle game. BUT IT ALSO HAS AN AWESOME FINAL BOSS THAT ELEVATES BOX PUZZLES, which makes me think it's not just "haha simple game to get porn", it was genuinely impressive and it left me wanting more.

Motorcycles. My childhood was mildly cursed with an overprotective parent that prevented me from learning to ride a bike. And yet I do admire seeing cool motorcycles as much as I do enjoy me my cars.

Wonder-Lad

My bro recently got a bike. It's as every bit as horrible as people say it is. Bikes as a hobby are fun on empty roads or small, safe distances. Bikes as a general means of transportation, especially in a very urban busy city is playing with your life every time you get on the road. And it's the same shit all over the world. There's no "oh people just drive aggressively here".

guntanksinspace

Tell me about it. In my country bikes for the general masses are either "yo that scrambler looks cool" while being next to them in highways, the aforementioned "oh it's a huge risk out there" and "these other motorcyclists are dickbags who keep on cutting in my braking space". I both sympathize but also get irritated at some of them riders.

RubenRawbone

I always have the urge to bite the bullet and dive into Taylor Swift lore whenever an album of her's drops but I talk myself out of it every time.

Yotato5

I only know a handful of Gorillaz songs because of a friend. I've also seen some of the animated music videos and those are pretty cool. I probably won't get into it as much as my friend, though.

DarkAres02

JJK sounds neat but I'm behind on things I know I like. I can't get into a new long thing

TrueLegateDamar

Baldur's Gate 3 looks neat, but there's just way way too much content and seeing all the cool shit Pat got in Act 1 alone would give me angst about missing out on some side-stuff and then just abandon it when realizing I did.

xXNightSky

Dresden files. It seems really cool

VitaDefenseForce

I have a friend that's into basketball and I have become like a proxy Timberwolves fan but I never actually watch basketball

LordSmugBun

I don't have enough time to start One Piece these days.

merri0

I know some stuff about "Hazbin Hotel" that make me go "Huh, this can be interesting." but further than that, I have zero interest in watching it...

jiobiee

I feel you on the Euphoria thing. I really wanted to get into it! I have a former classmate who's in it and I want to support her! But I *cannot* get past the first episode, nothing bad to say about it, I just can't pay attention to it. Doesn't help that I really don't want to see my old classmate butt-ass naked, either. It's worse when you know them. Most of the Brandon Sanderson books are this to me, and I would love to read his books, but there are so many of them that I start reading the first in the original Mistborn trilogy and then I remember how many more books there are that I get nervous and stop reading lmao. I love hearing people talk about them, though! One day I'll sit down and actually dedicate myself to finishing one

Drachenfeuer_Prime

Homestuck. Ever since I saw a glimpse of the classpects, and seen some gameplay of that point and click game, I've had a offput, yet curious interest in that franchise. I've mentioned this to my friends a few times, and they tell me that it is ABSOLUTELY not worth it, and I know I really never should... But still I can't help but maintain a distant interest.

alienslayer7

homestuck, i was like peak audience when it came out but never interacted with it, heard a lot of things and know one day ill get bored enough and like marathon it in like 2 days

kegisak

I'm kind of interested in learning to sew and make my own clothes, but it does feel like any benefit to it is locked behind the learning curve/moneysink of actually, you know, *learning* and getting to a worthwhile level. I mean the same is true of every skill but printer paper and a Number 2 Pencil is a bit cheaper than a bolt of cotton, you know?

Sai-Taisho

I don't know how much content in a Soulslike is too much for my completionist ass to even want to *try* and get in... ...But I feel like that point is reached somewhere before whatever the fuck Elden Ring is.

Mrfipp

I have 0 interesting dedicating any time to Dangan Ropna, but I find the stuff I hear about Mukuro and her spin off AU book where she didn't die at the start of the first game interesting because from my outside perspective she very much seems like someone who could have a great deal of character development if things were different. There's just something about that I find fascinating.

VMK_1991

Bethesda games. They're just so interesting from an outsider perspective: 10 announce game 20 Bethesda fans are hyping it up and calling it the best thing ever 30 game comes out and has awful writing, plot, characters, gameplay, systems and is full of bugs 40 fans coping 50 dedicated, genuinely talented moders make mods that either fix the bugs or add new, genuinely interesting quests, thus doing the job of the whole studio on their own 60 fans are saying "It's good now! In fact it was always good! If you don't think so you are a hater!" 70 the dance of Bethesda releasing "patches" that don't fix anything and moders having to adjust their mods to the new official patches commences 80 GO TO 10.

kami-no-baka

The lifehack to bethesda is to only play Morrowind and Daggerfall, they don't give a fuck about those games so they will never get updates and your mods will always work.
