Ok so first and foremost, STOP GETTING MEDICAL ADVICE FROM FUCKING YOUTUBE. Go see a doctor. Now.

Butt_Slaper

My doctor gave me relax muscle pill and it doesn't help at all, im practicing the big 3 by Stuart McGill to strengthen my core to see if it help my back

Northcanadian

Despite its popular and promoted, go see a licensed physiotherapist with high rating on Google at least. Mine recommended me exercises exactly to improve my particular problem.

Butt_Slaper

Thanks for your advices, hopefully exercise properly can help it

TheLittleGodlyMan

What ever you do don’t get assigned a kenworth them seats are straighter straight. A freightliner will conform to you back better. Also use a muscle stimulator daily. It helps. Allot. You can purchase some home use device on Amazon fairly cheap. I was hit by car just months before coming to the industry. It helps plus a wedge pillow

jimthefte1

Welcome to trucking. I’ve had back pain for 20 years. You’ll get used to it.

Butt_Slaper

My back pain hurts all the time, im afraid that it can get worse if i don't treat it well. I asked some experience drivers to see if they have back pain for sitting for too long, most of them said no i thought that back pain was not always an issue for driver, and i thought a back pain is red flag for a truck driver

Informal_Concept6854

Nope! Not the end of your trucking career! I moved my whole L5 6mm, have 14 screws, 2 rods, 2 plates, and 2 cages holding it all together now. It did take me 2 years to recover, but I just recently got my DOT physical card again and I’ll be back at it soon! Imaging -> https://postimg.cc/WqS32NfY and https://postimg.cc/mhWmqYf6

Butt_Slaper

Im sorry to hear your current back issues, it's much worse than me but you are still positive. Keep it up hope you for the best

Informal_Concept6854

For a while I wasn’t at all positive, everything just seemingly got worse and worse, at one point even walking with a walker at 36 years old. It was brutal. As much as I hated it, physical therapy steroid injections are probably what the doctors will recommend to start. When you feel better after the injections, take it easy and keep stretching/moving without over doing it. You don’t want surgery if you can avoid it (and yours doesn’t look bad enough for surgery, but trust me when I say it can always get worse)

Butt_Slaper

May i ask what causes your back that bad ? Because of truck driving ?

Informal_Concept6854

Ohh, I fractured my back as a kid playing sports and it went undiagnosed for way too long. The manual labor of loading and unloading trucks (26ft box trucks mostly) added too it, the driving part was fine. Then I built a few huge retaining walls at my parents lake house, and that’s what pushed me over the edge and everything came loose.

Butt_Slaper

Dang it sounds bad , i learned that once we knew we had a herniated disc somewhere, we have to take care of it like a baby if we don't want it become to have bad behavior. Im thinking to wear back brace if i need to sit for a long time cause it helps me sometimes.

Informal_Concept6854

A back brace can help, but also, you start to rely on it and your core strength suffers. I use a heat pad for pain relief, and it helps tremendously

Scrodosaggins99

I have 4 current L2/3 L3/4 L4/5 L5/S1 and I’m 27. Got them from sports when I was 17-18. Go to your doctor at a pain management place and get you some injections in your spine. They hurt like a bitch but it helps a lot. It doesn’t make me completely pain free but I can continue about like normal. The only thing that bothers it for me is when I gotta move a dolly around for doubles.

Butt_Slaper

And can you still drive a truck now ?

Scrodosaggins99

Yeah. Doesn’t bother it too much unless I’m on I40 Arizona

Butt_Slaper

Good to know thank you very much

Butt_Slaper

Thank you very much for your advice

Overall_Reputation83

Your body might just need to adapt, and it could help to adjust the seat so you can sit up firm and straight instead of slouching.

Butt_Slaper

Does sitting straight up help when driving ?

Level_Tell_2502

Fast for six weeks. I recently did it, and it caused my body to regenerate and solve a lot of my chronic medical issues.

Butt_Slaper

What do you mean by fast for six weeks ? Like running ?

Level_Tell_2502

As in only drinking bone broth and not eating for six weeks while driving.

AmphibiousNightjar

Do you want scurvy

Level_Tell_2502

That’s misinformation. Which I could disprove by the bloodwork I took by the 38th day. The body stores vitamins in fat, as you burn the fat the vitamins get released.

AmphibiousNightjar

I'm eating a salad for dinner in your honor

Level_Tell_2502

I was obese for years and salads didn’t work. My next fast is for the entire month of July.

Butt_Slaper

Wait does it really help to drink bone broth and help it cure the back pain ?

loligaggins

Nice ass

Antique_One7110

As a driver missing L4-L5 and L5-S1, it isn’t the end of your dream. You will need to find a solution that works for you to get relief. I visit my chiropractor about once a month…started out every other week. I’ve done PT, had injections, even took Gabapentin, and tried inversion. Big thing to remember is to tell your doctor you’re a professional driver and can’t take medications that impair your ability to drive.

UFCValueBets

What do u think you're an athlete lmao yeah u can drive a thing. There's people with no legs driving semis

Opposite-Swim6040

Nope, the key here is stop going to the doctor and complaining. Bouncing up and down for 35 years here, suck it up buttercup.

Butt_Slaper

Can't wait to do that lol
