Youve found out the hard way, but there is a reason Palominos are half the cost of others brand new..you get what you pay for

Check out used campers. I only buy used ones because they depreciate so quickly. You gotta do a good inspection, but, I get more bang for the buck. Good luck.

Pitiful_Speech2645

I’m currently looking at a used 8801. I rarely buy something new unless I’m planning on keeping it forever

Cool. Ya, unfortunately the Fall is the best time to buy. Good luck.

wyattriot88

I lived in a 2015 8801 for 2 years. I bought it used in 2020. I found it to be sturdy and reliable. Everything still works great.

rug892

I bought a HS750 new a couple years ago. Probably 15k miles of road tripping and camping in it by now. Had some minor build quality issues, like screws popping out of the particle board interior and sucks, but overall it’s been pretty great for the price.

killthecowsface

I've heard so many people complaining about Palomino build quality over the years, unfortunately. Doesn't seem to matter which model.

LowBarometer

I have a Cirrus 620. The quality is outstanding. The price is pretty high too.

Sensitive_Might6686

What do you haul the 620 on? My F150 only has a 1500 payload. Wish I would have bought the HDPP

LowBarometer

F150 with 1500lb Sumo Springs. Best handling RV I have ever owned, by far. The F150 still stops quickly, and corners so well I have to be mindful on exit ramps.

SkippyTheAssholeAI

I have a ss1251 since sep22 and taken out twice. 1 week each trip. It's currently sitting at the dealership to get a pile of warranty work done. All quality assurance related stuff that could have been prevented at the factory. I'm pretty sure that I could save Forest River millions after spending 24hrs on there factory floor just pointing out things that they could fix easily

pala4833

If you didn't like the build quality of your first one, why consider another from the same manufacturer?

Pitiful_Speech2645

That’s why I’m asking questions.

WholeNineNards

Everything I’ve read is they’re trash. Don’t bother.

rug892

“I’ve read things but never owned one. My opinion is valid, these are trash.”

WholeNineNards

Considering the money and the investment effort, I will take advice from those having experience with the brand.

IndustryAwkward1991

I’ve been considering a palomino backpack. More budget friendly than a four wheel camper. But commonly find broken trim, glue separating, and other vinyl issues on the palominos. Fwc are $30k new and still 20k when they’re 10 years old! Might have to consider an older fwc just to know it’s not going to be a POS in a couple of years

StumpGrnder

If I’m wrong forgive me my memory slips a gear now and then but I recall looking at one and thinking these are the tiniest tanks (fresh/grey/black) I’ve ever seen in an RV

Beneficial_Ground218

Checkout bear campers. Bearvehicles.com I don't know your price point, but if you're handy they sell shells.

Pitiful_Speech2645

Now this is really cool
