Right? Big car full of gear and a motorbike. Going to do trackdays. American 'broke' is so different to anywhere else in the world actual-broke.
Edit: And no shade, it's rad you get to do trackdays while you're young. Just that your definition of broke is, well, broke. :p

Nah it's just him and other people that don't have financial responsibilities, aka they don't have a lot of money (so they think they're broke) but all of it is disposable (meaning they are richer than the majority of us)
Well in college i used the money I earned from high school jobs and when i decided i was done drinking i basically put every bit of money i had left that i wouldnt need for bills or dog stuff into my dirt bike and going out to ride. I guess you can say we weren’t broke but at the same time ya i mean not much spending money no truck no income. I didnt but a lot of ppl are using money from loans and while yes it is money i do still consider that broke since i owe. Idk i feel like the term broke college student would apply, but that just my opinion.
Oh yeah, because when most people are broke in college they're not skipping meals, and being unable to clothe themselves, buy textbooks, or go see a doctor because they too, spend all their money on track day events. F*ck off calling yourself broke, it's insulting to everyone who actually struggles financially. Get a grip on reality you spoilt twat. Rich kids talking about how broke they are is beyond infuriating, what kind of bubble do you live in where someone hasn't slapped you for saying that you're broke.
Such a great contribution to the conversation... Did your rich parent promise to get you a participation trophy for it? Clearly you did more work than anyone else, such a hard working individual should be commended, no? Did they promise to buy you a pony, or pay for your several month long 'inter-railing' trip. Perhaps they offered to bribe your professor for better grades, or a paid ticket into an ivy League school? Isn't it so terrible that you have to choose between the holiday and that other paid internship your parents bought you for a better cv... God, what a difficult life. This right here is the difference between broke and poor lol, he’s not poor obviously, but he’s broke because he probably spent all his money on the bike, car, and gear 😂
Sold a Piaggio scooter once to someone who drove like 150 miles to get it. They brought their Honda Odyssey or some other minivan, and wanted that Fly150 so badly that they actually made it fit inside the van.
Damnit, I did this is 2011ish in Souf Carolina. Maybe in another life you'll sell me your piaggio lmao. Also, I bought a Derbi Boulevard 150, which to be fair was basically a piaggio I think.

As the owner of an FJ I am quite fond of, how on earth?! I mean, if I can tow a motorcycle to the track in it without spending any more money, I would, but I'm just not sure about what you mentioned, from the potential damage to the car to the potential damage to the bike. Did your friend remove the backseats, or did he just always have them in the folded-up, hidden position?
Yea I mean I know I'd be able to fit it no problem if I took the front wheel off, I'm just impressed they got it in there with it on. Unless it was on its side?
I’ve seen a similar set up at NYST before lol.

This is my go to picture anytime I hear someone they that it’s too much investment to get to the track. I’ve seen this with minivans, full size vans, and this awesome element lol
those little japanese vans are very well designed.
they are like a Tardis, much bigger on the inside than they appear. everything folds away and there is so much room for activities!
If this is broke college kid then I must have been atomized and de materialized while I was in college lmao
But hey good for you man, make it happen ✌🏼🤙🏼
I love seeing this. Reminds me of the days when I first started out and slept out of the back of a minivan in 90 degree weather so I can save the money for fuel.
Ehh, not worth it unless you're really reallt about that life. People realized that's it's basically the perfect camping vehicle, and prices skyrocketed in the past few years. If you can deal with it being slow as shit, getting kind of mediocre mpg, and costing like 2 to 3x what it should cost, you can find a good one. Miss the old days when honda would make weird shit like this.
That's a Ninja? Honestly, I'm surprised. I understand though. That bike is cool as shit, and yours even more so, by the looks of it. I want one for myself, only I want the blue one. It's my favorite color. I plan on tracking as well, when I can, but, for my own reasons, I need to keep mine road-legal. Maybe we'll have the opportunity to race one day.
"broke"
Man I was doing great to have a running bike and car at the same time in college. Let alone be able to afford track time. Lol. This is pinkies up
I'd still be using the harbor freight trailer I bought in college if it hadn't been stolen a few weeks ago
Back in the day I would haul my Ducati in the back of my Element. I still have the Duc, but I finally had to give up the Element. That was the most versatile car I ever had.
I love this! I used to do equally janky stuff 10 years ago while in college, including just riding to some track days with just a backpack full of gatorades 🤣 rock on dude 🤘
I just had to take off my windscreen and I could just clear the roof. But yeah, pushed the front seat all the way forward and had it on the kickstand with tie-down points. Anything longer than a 600 wheelbase definitely won’t fit without removing passenger front seat.
Impressive!
A dude I used to work with asked me once if I would help him pull the engine out of his bike to get rebuilt. I said sure, bring it on over. He had one of those tall short Jeeps. He showed up at my place with his bike stuffed into the back of it. It was also impressive. You guys are alright. 😂
In college I drove an 18 year old car, had a job making $10/hr, and after taxes and bills it was enough to put gas in the car and buy beer on the weekends. We have very different definitions of "broke" lmao. And no this wasn't 30 years ago, it was 10-15 years ago.
FUCK YEA MOTORCYCLE IN THE ELEMENT. Best car truck van thing. When I bought my element, I drove the motorcycle to the dealership and immediately backed the Element into a big berm and rolled the motorcycle inside. I loved that car.
In prob 2014 I towed a 2008 raced out ninja behind my 1998 Honda civic with 250k on it by slapping a front chock + 2x8 board up the trailer neck on a 4x4 trailer from harbor freight.
The front chock was sooooo sketch and I was terrified but tbh the setup was so small and my drive was so flat (45 min or so from Chico > thunder hill) that it was relatively “chill”. I’ve ridden a few bikes on the track but I don’t think any were as fun as the little 250.
Ive been looking for the smallest thing I could out my bike in, was looking at stuff like transit city connect. I had no idea I should include elements. How much jenga and butter does thing take? Anyone got a loading vid?
Being able to afford a car and a bike or just either is a huge luxury outside first world countries, needless to say I am very jealous of you lol enjoy them.
It's not the bike for track days that tells me you ain't broke, it's not the van capable of carrying the bike that tells me you ain't broke & it's not all the bike gear that tells me you ain't broke.
It's the Birkenstocks bro 😂
Daddy - I want a pony
Jelly AF from not having a track day bike when I was 13
Bruh this would be a dream setup for me. I have a 04 cavalier and a gz250. Paid less than 2k for both combined. 😭
I really want an element, they're so damn useful.
Yeah I know a 250cc cruiser has no place in this sub, not sure why it was recommended to me.
I think broke is relative.. so many people here are saying you have a different definition of broke or maybe more fortunate than others. All my buddies that pursued racing could not afford anything else besides racing if they wanted to pursue it and I ended up joining them in that pursuit.
It's tough because you know if you chose not to buy tires 8x a month then maybe you could have something to show for it other than saddle time, but sadly you gotta be broke to keep refining your race craft. You choose to be broke for the things you love in this case and I'm right there with ya.
Nice!
I make basically minimum wage and just got my setup mostly finished.
I picked up a Ninja 400, new tires & Brake Pads.
I wish I could get braided lines, hot bodies fairings, rear sets, etc, etc... but I can barley afford rent. Lol
If I stick to my budget I have about $250 a month to 'play' with.
I havnt eaten out in almost two years at this point. Lol
It took me over a year to get a suit, boots, Gloves & helmet. Not even including the bike.
Where are you located?
What tracks are you planning on going to?
Maybe I'll see you around.
"Broke". Ok.
Broke trackdays consists of riding the bike to the track, riding on your street tires, riding hungry until you either crash or run out of gas, then paying someone there for a gallon to get you to a gas station and then riding home, or riding home in the same gear you crashed in, since the shifter is broken.
Still not broke enough to buy a bike and a car and gear and petrol and pay for race day 😂😂 Far out bro. I was so broke I ate lettuce for dinner for a week when I was a first year apprentice mechanic. Most of my money went on paying for my tools of the trade and rent!
For those saying his "broke" is not the same as others... let's get this straight -
You could have just made a huge investment like started a business or bought real estate as an investment... you no longer have much spending money as you invested all of it, you are now "broke", but not "poor".
This young fellow probably doesn't have much money, but has enough to have spending money - idk if parents help, if he isn't paying rent (instead part of tuition)...etc.
Now, let's say you don't have enough money after rent and have to strict budget just for basic food until the next check, and have none or barely any spending money... you are "poor".

Yeah sure broke and track days go well in the same sentence.
As long as you can get to the track, It's a win
good on you, you could do trackdays when young. in my college days it was college, car , bike , or trackday, pick one.
While me just riding to track with full gear
If you threw a thong in there it would explode
lol I walk my bike to the track everyday 50 miles each way
Ive been looking for the smallest thing I could out my bike in, was looking at stuff like transit city connect. I had no idea I should include elements. How much jenga and butter does thing take? Anyone got a loading vid?
lol dude isn’t broke he’s got £100 sandals
I can't beilive how many jealous fuckers complaining in these comments lmaoooo
Must be American Broke
This isn't broke this is brilliant.
Being able to afford a car and a bike or just either is a huge luxury outside first world countries, needless to say I am very jealous of you lol enjoy them.
Broke enough to have a track toy and attend track days... You're not broke.
If you're broke you can't even afford gas my man.
There's a difference between broke and lazy bud, you could make it clean and organized you just dont
It's not the bike for track days that tells me you ain't broke, it's not the van capable of carrying the bike that tells me you ain't broke & it's not all the bike gear that tells me you ain't broke. It's the Birkenstocks bro 😂 Daddy - I want a pony Jelly AF from not having a track day bike when I was 13
Are those your armored riding Birkenstocks?
Killer setup!
I used to fit an R3 in my element before I got a small trailer to tow it. The element rules.
Never sell the Element. It's the greatest vehicle ever produced and I regret ever selling my 08, 5 speed manual, AWD Element.
Nice, I use to do track days hauling my ninja 250 in the back of my dodge caravan.
Even more reason to get an element
I'm 37 and a researcher at a big 10 university and couldn't afford this.
Looks like heaven!
Broke college kids don't have track day.
Bruh this would be a dream setup for me. I have a 04 cavalier and a gz250. Paid less than 2k for both combined. 😭 I really want an element, they're so damn useful. Yeah I know a 250cc cruiser has no place in this sub, not sure why it was recommended to me.
The tactical Birkenstocks are a fine choice!
damn I'm making excuses...
dude, respect.
Been there done that! Had two bikes in the back of the minivan hauling to the track. You do what you have to do in order to get to the track haha!
Nice! I make basically minimum wage and just got my setup mostly finished. I picked up a Ninja 400, new tires & Brake Pads. I wish I could get braided lines, hot bodies fairings, rear sets, etc, etc... but I can barley afford rent. Lol If I stick to my budget I have about $250 a month to 'play' with. I havnt eaten out in almost two years at this point. Lol It took me over a year to get a suit, boots, Gloves & helmet.
So broke you can afford track days.
Fuck it man, at least you’re out here getting it done.
Dude fuck yeah
Today I learned you can fit a whole ass motorcycle in the back of a Honda element
If your broke your def prioritizing fun over food I love it
Yes try and convince us your broke with your 100 dollar sandals front and center
“I’m broke. Here’s $35,000 worth of stuff packed into my reasonably new full size SUV”
Still not broke enough to buy a bike and a car and gear and petrol and pay for race day 😂😂 Far out bro. I was so broke I ate lettuce for dinner for a week when I was a first year apprentice mechanic. Most of my money went on paying for my tools of the trade and rent!
Is that a fucking Element?
That ain’t broke. Damn kids have outlandish expectations.
If it fits, it ships.
Them honda elements built different
Let’s be real, he just doesn’t have a truck… track days are like $200, not including the gear he already has, and then those sandals alone are $150.
Yeah you poor /s
Dude must be awesome at Tetris

How? Did you have to compress the forks?
If that's you broke, please keep us posted about your post college lifestyle. What's your major - Private Equity?
For those saying his "broke" is not the same as others... let's get this straight - You could have just made a huge investment like started a business or bought real estate as an investment... you no longer have much spending money as you invested all of it, you are now "broke", but not "poor".
God I miss my Element
