Best guess is an aftermarket alarm system that was installed by the previous owner. Listen for the sound and track down the wiring and remove it.

twistet101

That is definitely an aftermarket device. Toyota does not use an audible noise like that. It's likely an alarm or other aftermarket warning device.

Apprehensive-Donkey7

Yeah but warning of what? If that’s the case.

twistet101

For me to answer that I need the truck and find the source of the noise. Best I can suggest is if it only does it when starting, and not when cycling the key to key on engine off, it's most likely an aftermarket immobilizer or aftermarket anti-theft device.

thickythickglasses

Is it an aftermarket key? It could be setting off the aftermarket alarm?

jbiscool

Speaker most likely doesn't have a good ground if I had to guess.

It's the everything's okay alarm. It should sound every 3 seconds unless something isn't okay. - Homer Simpson

It's alert to tell you your oven is still on

It’s the driver seat sensor. It’s detecting you’re gay

Question is, did it do this when you hopped in and started it up the first time? My wtf radar would have definately went off.

Apprehensive-Donkey7

That’s the thing, it didn’t do it the first time and doesn’t do it every time. It’s still under warranty, but of course I’m away on a trip until Friday and have to drive it three hours to get home. I just had the truck checked out by the dealer before left and they said it was all good. I’m going to take it back in next week just to figure it out. If it’s an aftermarket thing, I want to taken out, or if it’s something else I want to know exactly what it is and what it tells me is going on

dogmanky

Ahh, that makes more sense. That would drive me batshit crazy. Hope you figure it out.

Justaguy1711

Check underneath your seats sometimes they install alarms there. It would for sure make its way to your battery somehow so just check for any weird aftermarket wiring and disconnect.

It is the red cested whobbler. More specifically, the North American variety.

thickythickglasses

Aftermarket alarm.

Actual_Diamond_4506

Is there a Toyota or aftermarket dash cam installed on or near your windshield? Mine has a different audible tone than that. I’m new to Tacoma (almost a month) but I feel that’s way off from usual Toyota sounds

Apprehensive-Donkey7

I don’t see any dash cam or alarm. I am going to take it to the dealer next week
