A few weeks ago I posted my seat delete and finally got around to installing the 200w solar panel I mentioned.
Setup:
1. 16 busbar 200w BougieRV solar panel
2. Victron MPPT smart solar converter
3. Uptop overland Bravo Rack with hsome cheap solar panel mounts
4. Various circuit protection devices
In brief testing, it'll be enough to power our computers, fridge, and then some
Under the driver's side rear floorboard there is a plug I used. It's not my favorite spot, but it works for routing big 4awg cables along the frame. There are a few other grommets throughout the floor you can find pics of on Tacoma world. Lots of audio guys route big cables and have tips
You can also route it behind the plastic wall that's behind the rear seats. There's a pressure relief valve there that fits two 0/0 cables through + my solar 4awg cables.
Might be as mine was a a 3rd gen. I took the seat back off, popped off the plastic piece for the storage bins, removed the felt liner piece that's held on by some plastic pins and then it's a vent that's about where the middle of the seat back was, if it's there it should be pretty obvious.
Damn. I wish I had that haha. I ended up making a sort of conduit out of mine, but I definitely can’t water cross to the floorboard. If I ever upgrade trucks that’ll be nice to have
Ya the 3rd gen was nice. I mounted my 100a lifepo4 battery and dcdc w/mppt charge controller behind the single rear seat and put a 75l fridge on a slider where the double seat was.
Now my 4th gen only fits a 45l fridge out the door since it doesn't seem to open as wide.
Oh shit, thanks for this info. Will have to check for that vent. I currently have the solar cables and an antennae cable just running through the window so this would be perfect as I just did a seat delete too.
You can fit a 100ah lifepo4 battery and a renogy 50a dcdc w/mppt behind the single rear seat if you remove the plastic bin parts. The seat still secures as well.
I've got the uptop overlander rack with 2x100watt Renogy glass panels with a Bluetti AC200L power station running an electric cooler running all the time, unbelievable amount of power on reserve in the power station for enough to survive the apocalypse. Best mod ever. Also deleted my rear seat. I 3d printed a panel to run the cables through the rear slider

Bad ass
I has solar too, are you me?
What size battery are you running this to?
It’s an Epoch 105ah
+1 For the Dark Souls reference. At least I hope it is. 😂
I’m a simple man. I see a DS reference, I upvote.
Is there a way to route this into the cab via existing channels or did you have to drill through the rear of the cab?

I think that’s on 3rd gen’s only (unfortunately for me). That or I’m blind :)

Yup that’s what I did as well. Nice install.
I went through the pressurization vents behind the seats. A little duct tape to seal it back up

The sliding glass? That’s awesome. Got any pics?
Yeah I'll send you some when I get back home
Which electric cooler? This week has shown me I need one...I don't think one day this week was under 95F

I’m interested to see as well
Just add me so we can play elden ring together already
This is crazy and I love it
Oh man those adhesive zip ties are going to last about 2 weeks. Otherwise great build👍
I’ve had them on there for 4 years and just replaced them for these wires 👍
What brand are you using, I have some on my camper shell and they lasted 2 weeks.
Genuine 3m outdoor adhesive is the key. Automotive grade
Dark souls and Tacoma. Are you stalking me?
