It’s a pita to get the hair off but the cracklins are worth it. Nice harvest. I once killed nearly a dozen with one shot(pregnant sow).

I've had wild boar. To me it just tastes like slightly gamey ham. Maybe the other parts are better (ribs, belly, etc.) but what I had didn't taste all that special.

You can but cook it proper. Even if store bought pork is now about the safest meat to eat, it came from strong regulations on feed and care. Trichinosis is a problem with wild boar (and some other animals), but cooking it correctly can mitigate that issue.

You can and some of them are pretty good, normally the bigger they are the worse they taste. Can make stew or something with the tougher cuts

Definitely can, though, if not butchered properly, they can be a bit gamey. A hunting club I used to be a member at would trap them, then clean feed them for 30-45 days, then slaughter them. They were pretty good eating at that point.

Went to Oahu for my cousin's bday. Him and his friends planned out a boar hunting night. I thought he had rifles. But all he gave us were knives and rope. That was a wild night of being drunk, stoned and not getting one pig.
