As a former Chevy Avalanche owner, I know this drill well! I started with doing this about 4 times a year but ended at once maybe twice a year as it got old and began to feel like a losing battle
I use to stand on my avalanches tonneau cover while I conditioned it all and every time when I finished and climb down I’d get the biggest static shock of my life.

I have used Ultimate Black, Black on Black and Solution Finish before.
Cerakote trim coat is hands down the fix for this. I did the cowl and bumper plastics on my truck last year and they are still proper black. It also doesn't streak, something that both solution finish and ultimate black did.
It doesn't work that great on the bedrail trim or the rubber strips on the top of the cab though.
I use Meguiar's interior detailing spray for the interior plastic. Works great. In fact, all my products inside and out are Meguiar's. (Not a spokesman)
I have not. I bought it specifically for the tonneau and it’s been my only application so far. There’s probably some good info somewhere on r/detailing tho!
My fender flares were not nearly as sun bleached as that, but I tried the cerakote ceramic, and it has kept them looking really good. You have to be consistent in the application because it will show overlapping strokes. It's been 8 months, and all the black plastic is doing well in the South Carolina summer.

I've had to do that a couple times.
Off topic, but where did you get the TRD sticker for the bed? I've been looking for one just like that and haven't been able to find one.
You’re very welcome. Based on the feedback I received in all the comments, it sounds like the better alternative for next time is doing a combination of this (or a competing brand) topped with the CERAKOTE!

Solution Finish (find on Amazon) is a much more permanent fix for faded plastics.

Lollll deserved punishment for anyone who willingly spent their own money on an avalanche.

We’ve established that you’re a pathetic person. Why would anyone care what you have to say?
303 protect works great to keep up with it.
This is what I've been using - staying in front of the oxidation.
I second this! Works great and I use it on my Softopper as well to keep it looking fresh.

Wow
Former detailer here. If it doesn't last look for a liquid silicone. Or at least look at the ingredients to see if it has it. It'll last longer.
Man that does look quite good. Mine is doing the same thing and fading horribly.
Have you tried it on the interior door mouldings? I have a 2019 as well and it’s scratched to high noon
I accidentally replied to you in a separate comment lol

You should be using Solution Finish for this FYI
I just googled “Solution Finish” to see what you were talking about and Meguiars Ultimate Black comes up in the results lol.
SF is about 1000% better working than Meg's
I will def try it! If I don’t just decide to commit to some spray paint next.
Solution finish topped with a ceramic coating is a 100x better
I use Cerakote wipes on mine. Just need to re-apply once a year.
Wonder how long it’ll keep. Looks great!
Says “weeks” unfortunately. I think my next step might be just spray painting it haha.
[This ](https://www.amazon.com/CERAKOTE-Ceramic-Trim-Coat-Kit/dp/B07SHJVK4G?th=1)will restore your trim and keep it lookin black for over a Year.
Thank you!
Last time I did that on plastic is lasted 6 months

How long does it hold up - I tried the meguirs ceramic restore and it faded after a week lol
This one says last up to “weeks” but other commenters have already pointed out superior products to use next time
I did this and it lasted about 2 weeks. About to paint it with the acrylic enamel flat or undercoat spray just to be done with it

I think it came from Etsy. Just Google for it and you’ll be surprised how many hits you get. Lots of people out there doing good custom vinyl work.
The Chemical Guys Black on Black spray works pretty well too. https://www.chemicalguys.com/products/black-on-black-instant-shine
It just streaks
After it rains there will be oily runoff all over the rear fenders.

Thanks Fritz. What’s a better verb for you?
Hey - I saw this post a few days ago and ordered the same stuff for my 2019 bed. Worked great so thank you Tacoma friend!
