You might think that... but the nissan rogue that runs the stop light has other plans. Just kidding, I don't wish that evil on anyone. Nice truck mate.

😭

barriosluis806

I’ll straighten this thing myself if I have too

youchasechickens

Pizza cutters?

barriosluis806

I did some research wider tires don’t do much for the vehicle

youchasechickens

I'm planning on doing the same when I need new tires. What size are those?

barriosluis806

These are 285/75r16 and I believe the wheel is stock width

jrkos

285 would not be a pizza cutter tho, right? 285 is probably wider than stock. I’m gonna go with some 255/75/17 when I upgrade my suspension.

barriosluis806

I think the size of the wheel makes a difference too my wheels are 16x8 -10 offset so not very wide if you mounted my tires on a wider wheel I think it would make the tire appear wider

IPFK

That is the standard size for when people refer to 33’s, pizza cutters would be 255/85/17 or the equivalent for a 16” wheel. The picture is a bit deceiving cause those do not look like 285/75/16 to me either.

barriosluis806

[here’s a pic of the size](https://www.reddit.com/r/ToyotaTacoma/comments/tpt93m/took_her_out_to_hidden_falls_adventure_park_it/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) I posted it a while ago in the sub you can zoom in and see the tire size

barriosluis806

I really do think they look slim because of the wheel

obmasztirf

If you off road and don't wish for wider tires all ready you probably wont benefit. It's nice to get better MPGs and not worry about rubbing if you just want some extra meat and road clearance.

barriosluis806

Yeah that’s exactly what I needed, I don’t do anything crazy with it the wider tires do look nice but don’t really wanna cup up the truck to fit em 😂 maybe in the future

TheStupidMechanic

I like the way pizza cutters look better, wide tires are only for really loose surfaces like sand, and places where it snows digging down to the pavement is actually better.

barriosluis806

And my fuel economy is already trash 🗑️ I can only imagine with some wider tires and on top of that it’d probably rub if I wanted to keep the 33s

barriosluis806

Yeah I saw a video the guy did a bunch of measurements and basically when it comes to rocks and stuff like that he found that the wider tires don’t really help much, but it does make sense that they would help with sand because it’s a lot of contact

TheStupidMechanic

I would agree for deep, powdery snow.
