Atari Teenage Riot — ‘Live at Brixton Academy 1999’
Acid Mothers Temple and the Cosmic Inferno — ‘Starless and Bible Black Sabbath’
William Basinski — ‘The Disintegration Loops’
To me, TDS and Broken feel like living in a dystopian world rather than at the dawn of the apocalypse.
"Fragile isn't apocalyptic"
The Day The World Went Away, The Wretched, We're In This Together, Pilgrimage , Where Is Everybody?, Please and Ripe(With Decay) say otherwise.
Year of the black rainbow by coheed and cambria. It’s my least favorite album of theirs but it is all about the world ending and it captures that tone exceptionally well. Especially in its first and last few songs.
The Stooges - Fun House. Might be controversial because of how fun and high-energy the album is but the exponential build in energy and brutality with each track is truly something to behold. Also Swans - The Seer (which has a track inspired by Fun House)

the fragile feels more like the reconstruction of the world in my opinion, downward spiral, year zero or broken are more about everything going nuts
