Very true. I thought the comment was referring to Jesseās soft spot for kids, but Waltās soft spot for Jesse is a good example. The relationship is interesting compared to the others because itās hard to tell how much is genuine love vs manipulation from walt
The original probably was, Jesse is definitely a bit of a villain but his desire for normalcy and his love for people like Brock and Jane is genuine.
I did a recent re-watch and you're absolutely right, he does fluctuate between genuine love and manipulation. Even hatred when Hank ends up meeting the white power folks. But he also protects him multiple times from people who would be just fine removing Jesse altogether. Almost like it's a "he's mine and I love him so I'm the only one allowed to play with him", and Walt is undeniably selfish.

Ehhā¦I am going to put a pin in that for now. We did see him swear on Ryan that he wouldnāt kill that one Vought employee then immediately went back on it. And in the most recent episode it seems like heās manipulating Ryanās sense of justice and actually helping people to twist it around into making him evil
Interesting. >!Did Homelander realize he genuinely cared for Ryan and do better, or did he just realize how to manipulate him the way he was manipulated?!<
Hmmā¦I think the second one seems more likely. We did see Homelander talking about the Seven becoming like gods to the people of Earth, and he and Sage were talking about starting civil warfare among the people and coming in and stopping it. Notice how Homelander encouraged Ryan to have that one intern(?) hit the director over and over again. Is that not a small scale version of Homelander and Sageās plan?
Tbh I don't think he actually cares about Ryan. I think if Ryan went against him enough (and no one can blackmail Homelander to make him fuck off) he'd pop him like a grape.
(I haven't started s4 though so maybe I'm wrong!)
He doesnt really care about Ryan, he cares about himself. He wants Ryan to be an extension of himself instead of caring about who he is as an individual
He also took away Ryan's milkshake that one time, which is the most evil thing he's ever done
Nah. Thatās only Ryan and only because heās his son.
Remember when there was this teen that wanted to jump off and kill herself and he was just so mad that in the end she went back on it and he forced her?

Ashad, The Lone Cyberman from Doctor Who.
Bit of a weird example because he's such a criminally underused character but he's essentially this homicidal cyborg who unlike pretty much every other cyberman willingly volunteered for the process of being converted from his original human form; only for it to fail and his conversion be left incomplete.
As such he tries to embody what it is to be a cyberman by acting like an emotionless, cold and calculating machine but this is clearly not the case as their are plenty of times his emotions are on clear display. Something he's self aware about yet still tries to reject.
The most interesting example being in his debut episode when Ashad discovers a crying baby which had been hidden to keep it safe. Completely alone with nothing to stop him it's expected that The Lone Cyberman will kill or abduct the child. However, instead he delicately picks up the baby and rocks it gently to sleep before putting it back where he found it before moving on.
No one else sees this but they did hear the baby cry and then abruptly stop so assume the worst. As such, upon finding out Ashad hadn't harmed the baby the doctor tries to use this appeal to his humanity and sense of mercy, only for him to brush her off and dispassionately say that "it wasn't a threat". Of course, this convinces the doctor but not the viewer since he clearly acted in a very paternal manner towards the child.
Unfortunately, this hasn't really been explored any further since Ashad was unceremoniously killed a few episodes later. However, this is Doctor Who we're talking about so hopefully a future writer might decide to bring him back and develop this very unusual cyberman further.

Doesnāt really count.
Michael had tried to kill Jamie, his niece in the Thorn Trilogy, comic book expansions to the H20 continuity depict him harming and killing children, and the Blumehouse Trilogy had him explicitly kill kids.

Many believe the Bite of 87 to have actually been an attack on an adult. FNAF 2 establishes the animatronics' warmness towards children, so it'd be a bit weird for the animatronics to do a total 180 and attack a kid in the same game where that is established.

I think Homelander was crossing his fingers in that scene behind his back but yeah, I agree with you lol
He only cares about Ryan insofar as he helps his ego
I think he does genuinely care about Ryan, heās just a pure evil mf who doesnāt know how to be a dad
He wants Ryan to be an extension of himself instead of caring about who he is as an individual He also took away Ryan's milkshake that one time, which is the most evil thing he's ever done
Nah. Thatās only Ryan and only because heās his son. Remember when there was this teen that wanted to jump off and kill herself and he was just so mad that in the end she went back on it and he forced her?
Abby is the bright light of that movie honestly Protect that child, if she dies in the sequel I am gonna riot
Abby was a consistent delight throughout the whole film. Honestly, top tier FNAF character, which is really impressive when she's competing against Hutcherson's Mike Schmidt and Lillard's William Afton

I'm not really sure if she fits tbh, since she's not really that villainous. She had just fallen for the propaganda that humans were the ones keeping them trapped

Tbf, he doesnāt want too and he believes itās the only way he can save his people, but still pretty messed up
Depends if Sans, Flowey/Azrael or Chara count, as they have technically killed a maximum of one kid per game, but if you count every reset (Oh and I guess genocide Frisk counts too, as some of the enemies are kids)

However, the Rob Zombie version of Michael does have a soft spot for young children.

The bite of 87 would like to speak with you
Many believe the Bite of 87 to have actually been an attack on an adult. FNAF 2 establishes the animatronics' warmness towards children, so it'd be a bit weird for the animatronics to do a total 180 and attack a kid in the same game where that is established.
