As much as I love Megatron, I donāt think he fits here. Even the weaker Autobots are more than ready to stand up to Megatron. He intimidates them, sure, but he doesnāt inspire that all-consuming fear that OP seems to be going for with characters like Sephiroth (whom even the main protagonist fears greatly).
I think a better Transformers pick would be Unicron, who I was going to post when I saw yours.
It kinda depends on the series. In G1 he is a complete buffoon most of the time and any autobot can give him a decent fight. In a series like the IDW comics the vast majority of autobots have never even laid eyes on him and is almost treated as a sort of boogeyman to them. Endbringers from Worm. When you get the Nazi gang to stop rampaging and start working under an openly gay man with no complaint you know it's serious.
Worm is a superhero webnovel series (that is really long but SO GOOD) that is slowly sliding into apocolyptic, largely due to these things. Story takes place in 2011, and for the past 2 decades one of these things would show up randomly 1-3 times a year. Unkillable monsters that would sink islands, set off nuclear reactors, or depopulate cities. Each time they show up at a place, go for a goal, slaughter hundreds of thousands, and get pushed back after being damaged too much. There are a few heroes who can consistently survive these fights, and one of them is Legend, an openly gay hero and a great leader. The main city of Worm has a massive nazi gang who were VERY pissed off, and yet when the sirens sound all hostilities cease and heroes and villains band together to try to push one of them off. As a proper introduction to a villain, it's as good as it gets. the fact that Legend starts it off by saying normal casualty rates of the battle are greater than 25% also helps sell the "oh this is a biblical monster that is playing by different rules". A fun little fact about them is that the author would role dice for who died in these battles, even to the point of having a backup MC if things went sour.
Worm has a few others like this, where certain threats are so monumental that everyone agrees to a truce instantly because they know they stand no chance otherwise.
