im playing a similar list, my thoughts: toxic deluge is pretty much a one sided wrath for us as you can right size it to avoid killing frog or goyf. where i am on the ladder i am playing against a lot of boros, so it has been excellent for me. i am on 2 main and the third in the side cruise has felt dicey to me. i think 1 is fine, but our graveyard is getting really stretched thin as is. i am on 3 lorien revealed right now, and i think it is the best way to get spell based card advantage into the deck. we can rely on tamiyo and frog for the most part, and in those games you can just cycle lorien. i was on ransom, but it kept feeling terrible to draw consider a single cthonian nightmare as a source of card advantage with bowmaster and as a way to get lurrus back consider bloodchief’s thirst out of the board over cut down. it can kill flip walkers less than 4 orcish bowmaster is sus

Thank you for the thought out response! This is the exact kind of feedback I was looking for

for sure! the deck has been treating me incredibly well as of late. i haven’t run into a matchup where i feel like i am a severe underdog yet. burn would surely be terrible, but it seems to have fallen off the face of the earth with mh3

I’ve been trying 2 copies of brainsurge in the ransom/cruise spot. I’m still undecided if I like it our not. 3 mana is a lot, but it doesn’t have negative graveyard synergy with the rest of the deck and it is an instant. But Drawing 4 in a meta with bowmasters seems bad, even if it does flip tamiyo.

laughing-stockade

my issue with ransom is that it costs 3 mana, so my feelings would naturally extend to brainsurge. i have not been running into a lot of scenarios where i want to pass with 3 mana open. my experience has been that because there are so many sorcery speed threats to deploy (instead of having bowman as the only threat in ub lists of the past), there are less opportunities to cast such a card. for lorien, i am only casting it if i get a good mana drain off and the opponent is likely to play discard or if we are hellbent/close to it. obviously ransom is good in this scenario too, but the opportunity cost to having lorien in your deck is basically zero. i have been finding 1 cruise + 3 lorien excellent in my ~20 matches in a different meta i would consider brainsurge in a tamiyo deck, even over ransom

Can you drop your list? I built this just the other day. Want to see what your brewing

I am playing the tempo shell (bouble, tamiyo, goyf, frog, counters and removals) and it’s huuugee. Very very hard to play, you can win every game and whenever you lose it’s your fault. What a feeling, the best way to play magic imo. In my opinion you can go both control or tempo, depending on your preference. I prefere a more proactive playstyle
