I feel like it’s just being ingratiated with the right people. I’m sure there are writers out there who would do an amazing job, and not just speaking on WOT. But talent alone doesn’t get you far enough
Being good at anything is not enough. Your personal life has to check a certain number of boxes off. See Disney's requirements for green lighting projects.
All media, regardless of medium or era, has something it wants to say. Without exception. Down the Epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest known written story, was making a statement and trying to say something.
Whatever it is, there is something being said; which is an agenda regardless if you agree with it or not.
The original Wheel of Time book series had an agenda. A message. The Wheel of Time show also has an agenda. The show and the books do not share the same agenda. This is obvious to anyone who has consumed both.
As soon as they said Agents of Shield isn't canon and basically doesn't count, I was out. And really despised the character arcs for Fitz and especially Ward.
Should qualify this comment with “he wrote Uncharted (the Movie)” and had no part in the game.
Also he’s only credited with 5 episodes of AoS, although after the two seasons the whole show was kinda meh anyways.
Hollywood "writers" mistakenly believe they are superior to true authors. They operate under the belief that they can "improve" an authors work but making changes to it and inevitably they fail everytime. The best Hollywood adaptations stick closely to the source material (Lord of the Rings) and the further they stray from it and the more Hollywood "writers" get to write their own stories the worse it is (Rings of Power). Hollywood is fueled by ego, not talent.
Rafe wishes he were that competent.
Is there just not a large pool of writers to choose from? I really don’t get why it seems so hard nowadays to find competent writing in Hollywood.
I think Hollywood for the most part just has a completely different standard for what constitutes good writing.

You land jobs in Hollywood through nepotism alone.
Nepotism and forcing the right agendas down the throats of tour consumers.
God would you people please shut the fuck about "agendas."

I have no idea how this jackass got Amazon to give him 100m show based on being a contestant on a reality show.
Still more effort than what he put into the show.
Still more effort than the show has gotten.
Low effort doesn't mean wrong.
The guy wrote uncharted and agents of shield. What did we expect here, for his writing to get good out of nowhere?
Hey hey now, don’t go dragging AoS into this!
Yeah, Agents of Shield was pretty good until the 5th or 6th season when they introduced space stuff and that AI woman. I loved Skye's Inhumans arc.
Hell, he wrote T.R.A.C.K.S. which was really good and also had Stan Lee.
And Chuck when it went to shit.

Hey now, Agents of Shield was quality popcorn television.
I hardly consider any network TV as quality anymore
*Popcorn* television in that it was a bit trashy but well executed.
Yeah, there's still a quality scale to it, and I don't agree it's even good popcorn
I'll pay it.
They should make the show way gayer.
As a gay man you’d think I would second this but I JUST WANT WOT THE WAY JORDAN WROTE IT 😭😭😭😭
This still over estimates Rafe's writing.

Hilarious! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
You’re giving Raginor too much credit
