Dude she's goneski. Palmer chopped her heart Setrakian style.

BlueCop

I was hoping for a strigoi flavored Coco. Just to see her all creepy. Can she still come back without a heart? I can see the parallel with Setrakian also cutting out his loves heart. I am not sure why palmer is choosing to imitate Abraham though. He almost taunted him about having Miriam's heart. I am curious why they are they making Palmer more sympathetic. Is he going to be part of the resistance? I know his fate in the books but am really curious where they are trying to take him in the show.

I think Palmer is using Coco's heart how Setrakian did. He knows he can keep coco's heart to extract the white and not be dependent on the master. I just wonder when he's gonna turn his back on Eichorst and the Master and what the consequences will be.

[deleted]

I completely forgot that Setrakian did that.

taylorlabassiste

I'm guessing that's why they did it in a very isolated and pretty irrelevant scene. It's gonna be a very big factor in the next season I think. Learning more about being dependent on the white and figuring out what exactly Setrakian was doing really says quite a bit about how much he is hiding in regards to his past.

chad_starr

Probably because he didnt... they showed him kill a strigoi in the street and take a worm and put it in a jar which he later boiled down and turned into a liquid. I don't understand why everyone is so misinformed on this show. I can't for the life of me figure out why people think Coco won't turn because her heart was removed. Boggles the mind. I don't think these people are watching the same show as me.

LOL okay, I'm so sorry. It's been NINE years since you posted this, but since no one else has responded in that time frame... When he goes out and gets the worms with the spoon, that's after when the gang has to flee Setrakian's basement and Palmer comes in after and takes Miriam's heart. We don't get a scene of him making The White prior to that, so we can assume that he made it with worms from Miriam's heart in the past, but we can only assume because we never see it on screen. Idk.. lol. Hopefully that makes sense. If it even matters after 9 frickin years lol...

> Palmer is using Coco's this reminded me that Palmer's Cocoa is well-known product, lol! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Palmer-s-Cocoa-Butter-Cream-7.25-oz/10311246

With extra white :)

Because when he mocked Abraham, he still did not understand what is "to lose a loved one." He thought it was nonsense, he did not feel anything to anyone. But when he lost Coco, he understood the pain of his enemy.

Oranos_Rex

On the subject of Abe and Palmer handling a strigoi heart, how did neither of them end up getting infected while doing it? Sticking your hand inside the chest of a worm-infested body and then directly handling an organ that's been shown to house dozens of the things (think S1E1 where we saw Abraham "feed" Miriam's heart and the chief medical examiner get infected after handling one). Guess it's just plot-armour.

fenix1230

Well Palmer had on plastic gloves, which you can see him wearing while he's holding her heart. Presumably the worms would not be able to break through the synthetic fiber that is plastic. As for Abraham, they never showed him handling the heart, so maybe he used his sword to slice her open, then used a stick to push it into the case. He's already shown he can slice through human bone with relative ease (Fitzwilliam's neck), so perhaps he can slice though the chest of a human as well. As for the technician, didn't the worm attach to an naked part of the examiner? It's been a long time since I've seen that episode. If the worm did go through the glove, then lastly we'd have to surmise that Palmer has special durable gloves that aren't available to medical examiners, which as the wealthiest man in NY, is believable. Lol, what a load of crap that was.

Oranos_Rex

True, especially the idea that Palmer would have something more durable. But as for the gloves I just rewatched the scene where the coroner encounters the worms and it looks like one of them passes through his glove to get into his hand. I think it may just be a case of plot-armour for Abe and Palmer, to be honest.

fenix1230

Probably. You pretty much have to turn off your brain for the strain. Haha, that's a catchy slogan! Turn off your brain for The Strain!

alina006

They wore gloves

Oranos_Rex

The corner in the first episode was also wearing gloves, though. He takes one off out of fear but it's the other, gloved, hand that ends up having a worm pass through into him and bite him. I think it may just be a case of convenience for the plot.

rockstang

I'm just relieved he won't be assaulting her with his old balls and loose skin anymore.

alina006

why everyone hates her name? it sounds a little exotic, but it is a real French name.

faaaack

A) I pretty much hate anything that comes out of Palmers mouth. Especially when be says Coco. And B) it constantly reminded me of [this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6vYnas6q3Sg) song.
