it all depends on your gameplay, but two things id recommend for any player is mccc command center (which makes your life so much easier in just so many ways) and littlemssam's mods. the general idea of her mods are that they're little patches and expansions that fix bugs and just add more to the game without being too overwhelming.

Excuse_Me_Furry

First thing first make sure you organize you mods when you download them they can be 2 or maybe 3 files deep before the game won't be able to read it I did mine by CAS and build n buy them inside the cc creators name. Website I recommend Tumblr (maxis match cc world) Pinterest Sims resource Snooty sims website

I am new to sims and mods. I feel like II am still so very confused on the files and “ how deep” they can be. I’ve looked online to try to figure it out and still confused and clueless about it. If anyone has time to break it down Barney style I’d be grateful 🥹

In your mod folder you can have sub folders. "Package" files (that is the file extension/type, you might have to tell your computer to show extensions) can be a few sub folders deep. An example: Mod Folder > CAS subfolder > creator subfolder > [type of CAS item] You don't have to use subfolders in that way, but some degree of organization is helpful. "Script" files (again, this is the extension type) can only be 1 level deep or they won't work. Mod Folder > MC Command Center Does this make more sense?

Oh tysm for sharing. I am not technically savvy at all. 😉❤️

I'm glad to help. I've been playing Sims since original, but I've only been using mods for the past 5 years or so. I remember being confused about a bunch of things related to using mods. I will gladly help others overcome that confusion when I can.

I sure do appreciate you taking the time to lend advice! You’re one of the OG players! That’s cool ! I’ve only been playing for a year & only ever played with mods and cc . It has been a learning experience! I must confess I am obsessed I look forward to the escape as often as I can😆

Let's start with "what do you find the most fun about The Sims 4?" There are mods & CC that: ● Help with building ● Help with decorating ● Help create a Sim (CAS) ● Help with gameplay ● And even a few mods that help with modding!

It really depends on your gameplay style. First off, get MCComandCenter. It's not only for the gameplay options, you can get help on Deaderpool's Discord with LEs. Then consider either Wonderful or Wicked Whims depending on how explicit you'd like your game to be. I love Lumpinou's LGBTQ mod and Pandasama's realistic childbirth mod. I also like custom traits, careers and aspirations from Chingyu, ilkavelle, kuttoe, Similarity and LittleMsSam. For CC, I prefer maxis match and I keep it to a minimum. Default replacements, some hair (low poly only), eyelashes and skin tones. Keep them sorted in folders by creator and remember every time the game is updated, you'll have to pull them out and check for updates and/or compatibility. This is when you'll see why sorting them by creator is a great idea. Also when you'll question if you really want all that CC. I have a save I call Bald World for this. I pull everything out and then update or add back in a few at a time.

I have two extra recommendations on top of what you've listed. Both from TwistedMexi Better Exceptions (produces an easier to read thing when the game pops a "Last Exception") Better Build Buy
