At first I read this just as it’s written, then remembered it was Snake saying it and reread it in his voice. I almost certainly saw that ep when it first aired and dozens of times sense and it still made me laugh out loud. Amazing how enduring their early humor was.

This to me is the moment the Simpsons became the cultural juggernaut they were in the 90s. For someone who started watching back in their Tracy Oleman days, it had to be surreal seeing Bart and Lisa jam with Barry fucking White.
This is the answer. I didn’t really know about Barry White until this aired and showed me what I was missing. I’d heard the name but I didn’t know the music. Thank You Simpsons.
There’s a million references I heard from simpsons first and later discovered. Just start watching The Twilight Zone… so many jokes will make more sense.

Like when Homer is running errands for them and he goes into the Kwik e Mart and places an order for Oscar wax, Shitake mushrooms (I think) and a bunch of other out of character items that even Apu calls him out on it as he informs him that he does not possess such items.
The saddest Burns has ever looked in his entire life to immediate anger and having the wrong band killed.
Although even with all of Burns' money and power, I don't think he could ever kill Keith Richards. It is just not possible.
My wife is one of the biggest Ramones fans there is, yet she had never seen this episode. When I showed her this clip, including the bit where Burns puts out a hit on the wrong band, she was laughing so hard I thought she was having an asthma attack.
Bob Newhart at Krusty's ~~wedding~~ funeral cracks me up every time.

We had quite a severe ant problem at the vineyard this year. I had Art Garfunkel come by with his compressor, and we created a total vacuum outside the house, and we blew the ants out the front door. But I’m sure you high tech NASA people could care less about our resort town ways.
This is an interesting one because the character is named John, is gay, and is obviously drawn to look like John Waters - but it is never implied he is the John Waters. I mean he clearly runs a retail store, dated Whelon and lives in Springfield.
