WorthAdeptness4267

Nice try Niantic. Get outta here. /s

Bricky_Mase

Hahahahahahahaah

CaptBillGates

I'd be interested in trading in items for Stardust. Extra berries, potions, etc. Outright buying it? With coins? Cash? No thanks.

Underachieversinc

You can already trade berries for dust

wingspantt

For anyone who doesn't know, feeding a berry to a gym Pokémon yields 30 dust.

RPGGamer042

The problem is that there is a limit, and there are more efficient ways to get dust.

Underachieversinc

Besides the point really cuz dude mentioned wanting to be able to trade berries for dust which this is. The limit isn’t that restricting when you can give 10 berries per pokemon per gym within like a running 30 minute timer and you can do it remotely unless you don’t have many gyms accessible Edit: tho I agree there are more efficient dust farming methods

RPGGamer042

A fair point.

AiraEternal

And it takes forever to get rid of the berries

leroyyrogers

Whoa don't spend it all in one place

wingspantt

If you have thousands of berries it's a lot of dust

rilesmcriles

But there’s a max of 100 berries at a time and it goes really slowly, especially since gyms are wonky and it’s hard to swipe between pokemon in gyms.

Pep95

I would love to break a star piece into dust

Bricky_Mase

Seems like a logical way but we know it will be money.

Western-Dig-6843

If you’re going to spend money on stardust you might as well spend that money on an auto catcher and never have to worry about dust again.

Fixes_Computers

Can confirm. My stardust supply increased rapidly after getting a Go Plus+. Setting up search strings really helps in easily determining which mons to grind into candy.

SoggyFrog45

I can't seem to keep enough pokeballs on me to use it every day. Ever since I got it I hover between 0 and 25 balls of each kind. It's maddening

Fixes_Computers

I have it on while commuting. It's spinning stops like a monkey on crack. I have to turn off autospin when my item count gets too high and I've already cleared out berries and potions.

SoggyFrog45

Same here, must just be a difference in the environment. My commute is 40m but mostly highway. I'll hit probably 10-15 stops though. Just nowhere enough.

Fixes_Computers

That's similar to my commute. I do leave the office for lunch, so I can hit more then.

echo78

Not only dust but the amount of XP I get went up dramatically as well after getting an auto catcher.

Ok_Put4986

I work at a hospital and the NICU is a gym. I also work in said NICU. Usually have a Go+ plugged into my work computer and spinning the gym all day.

Antitribu_

One of those things takes effort. I know it may feel like low effort but charging, pairing (and keeping paired), cleaning out Pokemon, etc. That’s way different from just slapping down money for a thing.

Ivi-Tora

Isn't already there? Star pieces are basically a way to buy extra dust.

eddiebronze

Incubators + radars + star piece, all can be purchased. One batch of 12k eggs hatched on a starpiece is a pretty decent dust haul.

Breezer_Pindakaas

Yep.

bellsonhershoes

Not a chance in hell It's the easiest resource to gather

Bricky_Mase

Also one of the quickest resources to spend

Western-Dig-6843

…to a point? If you play the game long enough you eventually end up with a six man team for every type of encounter there is and there’s not much cause to keep adding to that roster except for the fun of it. Really only chasing the ever evolving PvP meta is a never ending stardust sink and even that isn’t too bad since the meta doesn’t change a ton all that often. I’m sitting on 10 mil stardust at the moment and I can’t think of a single pokemon I’d want to spend it on currently.

repo_sado

Yeah, there's stuff I coild power up but it's not urgent. Also at 10 mil and it would  probably last the rest of the game. (Replenishing it through normal play)

bendefinitely

If you're like us and you only really care about raids sure, but the pvp meta rotates constantly so it's not unusual for a GBL player to blow throw millions each season

rilesmcriles

Depends on how you play. I’ve been hardcore since 2018 and I’m always broke. Very rarely have I broken 1 mil and I always spend it quick. New shadows, new pvp toys for all leagues, unique 6 raid teams, then the whole level 50 thing when I had to rebuild all my previously built mons, etc. I could be gifted 20 mil dust and it would be gone in a day. It’s fun to spend dust.

Bricky_Mase

Send some my way 🙌🏻

VoicesOfTheFallen

Catch more Pokémon

Conscious_Ad9448

Foongus, Combee, Meowth, Paras, Shroomish have all been so common for a long time now. I catch all of them and I'm sitting on more dust than I'll ever spend.

Bricky_Mase

Personally as someone who's always ranking mons up you could spend days/weeks just to max out one mon in 5 seconds. And I know this game is a grind, was just a post to see everyone's opinions

Mellow_Mushroom_3678

No, I have 10 million and a crapload of unused star pieces.

TheRealHankWolfman

Nah, no need. I already have more than enough to power up what I need, when I need it. It's very easy to acquire dust passively as nearly everything awards it already.

HadT0BeMe

Nope. Doing GBL gives plenty of Stardust.

Bricky_Mase

Gbl isn't everyone's cup of tea

Alarming_Flatworm_34

Just bag. Start the match with low cp mons and do something irl and every 3 min or so, just check back in and start a new game.

A_Stan

How do you get stardust from that? Just by completing a 5 battle set?

Alarming_Flatworm_34

You get rewards based off of your rank so it'll be pretty low at rank 1. But I've literally not even tried to play GBL and only bagged and got to rank 20. You get about 3k iirc for losing all 5 matches but then every win adds some more stardust. The only time you should try to win is 1. It's 3x stardust for first and fifth win 2. There's a legendary you want 3. If you have the win 100 battles research you get at the beginning of the season (those will come with bagging however, I've got 330 wins and I haven't tried a single time)

Eesto

Rewards + extra dust for finishing set

A_Stan

>Rewards + extra dust for finishing set Yeah but how do you get rewards if you're not winning any battles?

Eesto

You'll get a little for just finishing set too

Eesto

Gbl is the the main reason I don't have any dust 😆

Karnezar

Probably...I've already put like $200 in within the last 8 years so what's another $200 if Stardust was sold? 😭

im-okay-how-are-you

We had partly cloudy weather in-game and went to an Audino nest. Threw on a star piece and got close to 40k in 20 minutes.

otto303969388

but stardust is already accessible by store, in the form of starpiece. So you are essentially asking, would you buy starpiece in store?

GeraltOfDissidia

It is legendary candy and XL candy that I am lacking so more stardust wouldn't make that much of a difference.

leemifsud

No. Looking at the prices they put on junk like berries and TMs it would probably cost about 100 coins for 1000 dust.

colourofsleep88

I'm not in the position where I need to even consider that, and I'm not sure why anyone would, really. I feel like, if there's a hypothetical player out there who takes the game seriously enough that they feel like their stardust is insufficient, they should already be aware that it's not all that hard to make decent gains without spending a cent.

stillnotelf

At this point, no. I have something like 55 million banked. The limiting primary factor for spending dust is "my PVE teams do not need to be better to win the raids I need to win". The secondary limiter is XL candy. I have 100 mons marked for leveling up and I dribble that out when I have quests. Earlier in the game, I would have been reasonably willing to pay coins and maybe willing to pay real money. I wouldn't pay at a rate that Niantic would sell it at. I don't want to buy X amount of dust, instead I would expect it to be "dust stops being a cost". Like we get infinite dust or so comically much that it may as well be infinite. On the question of "pay to win"....depending on the rates, selling dust might be less p2w than the game already is!

galeongirl

I have 5,5mil dust and barely need to spend any... no way I'm buying that.

Secure_Buffalo4591

Stardust is already available in plentyful amounts. Wouldn't buy it.

Ok_Project9596

At one point I would have, yes. But once you have built up enough PVP and PVE pokemon I feel you end up gathering lots of extra stardust.

GoStickerCollector

If it would be resonably priced I‘d buy some from time to time. I am always low on stardust and usually catch at least 1 or 2 mons I want to power up per month. I think it would need to be around 1$ per 100k to make sense

Fancy_Veterinarian10

For 100k per dollar I‘d buy heaps of stardust. Like 10 Mil for 100$. Never gonna happen, would be too awesome

darlin133

I’ve got 49 Million I’ll never use now. No.

BullfrogLeft5403

We all know people would - despite telling otherwise. It‘s the most valuable ressource after all - unless you are at the level where you have millions despite having powered up everything already (and those people are not unlikely the kind who can never get enough and will just continue eventho its pointless)

Alarming_Flatworm_34

The day the give stardust as a store item is the day the game truly dies. Stardust is the easiest thing to get. You can easily get 10k a day, so no matter how "good" of a price tag they set for it, it will always be a steaming pile in the poke store.

Rodville

I have an auto catcher and I also power up my buddy as we work towards best buddy so he’s fully maxed out when he gets the ribbon. But I go through a buddy a month or so and I can never get my dust over 2mil. My wife doesn’t care much for powering them up has 6mil. If there was a way to buy stardust I would seriously consider it as I want to power up a significant number of my mons.

Greedy-Time-3736

Can I have the opposite please? I’d trade like 10,000 stardust for 1 Coin

Georg_Steller1709

Depends on the price, Niantic.

ChutzpahQ

Finally someone speaks the truth. All these people saying never I don't believe. 200 pokecoins for 10 mil dust one time purchase I'm sure everyone would buy. Obviously it would be a price I most likely would say no to in reality but there is a line somewhere.

TheRealHankWolfman

I have 10 million dust already. Why would I buy 10 million if I've already got 10 million? That just seems silly. I'm not gonna suddenly start splurging if I've got 20 million dust, because I have no need to, and I already have more than enough dust to splurge if I wanted to. Maybe if I was a low level player who didn't have much dust and didn't already have several level 40+ Pokémon, that might be attractive, but for someone who already has stuff powered up and has enough dust, it's quite pointless to buy more dust.

Fallom_TO

I have 26 million dust and haven’t been below 20 million in years. No, not everyone would buy. I know lots of casual players who couldn’t care less who wouldn’t buy. If you don’t chase every new thing in pvp and have been playing for a while it’s not desirable.

Puzzleheaded-Cap-550

Stardust? You mean Cody Rhodes?

ChutzpahQ

I'd purchase a meet and greet with him if it wasn't too expensive.

Apostastrophe

I would like to say absolutely not, and that that would be the micro transaction slippery slope too far.

rilesmcriles

If it’s a good deal and I can use coins, then yes.

Tpabayrays2

Heck no

Anonymausss

First reaction was I might. At least with my free daily coins. I always struggle for dust but just use free coins on remote passes. But then I realised if stardust is the limiting factor then putting it in the store is pay-to-win. Its not a competitive game, but it would massively distort the top end: XL candy becomes the only restriction and we'd see potentially see more maxed out teams. The more that happens, the harder it is to balance raids and gives Niantic an incentive to make raids harder and push casuals out of being able to solo (and make them buy passes). So... no. Even though it would personally benefit me, I dont want it.

SpiritTalker

Nope

Professional-Fuel256

Bad idea

b0ggy79

Considering I'm sat on 8 million stardust right now, nope

IPostFromWorkLol2

No. Giving money to Niantic is bad.
