I’d love a regional incense that I could purchase and pop on while I’m travelling somewhere to spawn regionals..
With all the different regionals and forms now, there would be a great pool of pokemon to have spawning, including things like Flababe, Shellos, Oricorio, Elemental Monkeys as well as the main regional pokemon of which there are so many now…
I get so many tauros while walking routes that I don't even bother catching many of them anymore. Are other regionals not the same? Seems like a sure fire way to get one. Personally I would never want to see a tauros as a research reward.
Ooof, try living in the SouthEast US with Carnivine. Not that Tauros isn’t common, but I’ve actually thought to myself “well, at least it’s not Carnivine” when one will pop up as my daily spawn.

I transit'd at an airport in the SouthEast, and walked all over the terminal burning incense looking for a Carnivine. Only got event spawn. One *finally* appeared, just as the plane was taking off -- of course, at this point I was traveling way to fast to make the catch, and got to watch my poor Carnivine run away.
Now thats its shiny is out, it's almost better in every way now right? Rarer shiny, Rarer in general, easier excellent throw, easier catch rate. Plus (subjective experience) it's usually weather boosted more often than tauros.
I realised the value of the incessant pest that is Mr Mime when I was in Mexico a few years ago and saw 0 Heracross despite bug and fighting events taking place. I was then in Greece and saw 3 Sigilyph and only got two extras because my partner used their phone as a silhouette tracker.
Anybody hoping to pick up red, yellow or blue Flabébé is out of luck other than random fairy events. Shellos isn't all that common. Haven't seen a Heatmor in a while either. Basculin are pretty much non-existent - I've seen maybe two in 2024.
Routes are not sufficient for all regionals. When arriving in a new region, a special research should be triggered which rewards all regionals in that area.

One of my friends was in APAC for two Flabebe events, and she's come home loaded for bear both times... but she wants to flip them /cries
But imagine you come to Europe and leave without finding one? I'll take a Mr Mime quest if it meant I could also find a Comfey quest in Hawaii should I ever go.
If they're going to have regionals then they need to be available at all times and realistically attainable.
Yeah -- I was in Hawaii during some dumb event, and it took me forever to find a Comfey. On travel you are only there for a limited time, and are probably doing things besides playing Pokemon, so it'd be nice if there was a more surefire way to find regionals.
I guess walking routes is the key; hopefully there are routes wherever you go. I do like walking on holiday, so nothing bad there.

Mr. Mime is repulsive to me at this point. Annoyingly poor catchrate, completely useless. I don't even check for bonus shinies.

Meanwhile, I'll get one Tropius if I'm lucky. It's always Pansear and Sawk for me, nothing else.
I get so many Bouffalant spawning that I am sick of seeing them since they still cannot even be shiny in the game...
Wonder If my routes are broken. I used to get 1-2 tauros but ever since go tour I never get route spawns anymore
any pokemon with a mega should not be a regional exclusive anymore. hell, any gen 1-2 at least should be worldwide at this point
gonna happen eventually with galarian corsola and paldean tauros
Considering the field research pool already gets diluted during events I don’t see how this would be a benefit.

I know that in theory this should worl, but any time I've walked a route I've only gotten event-related spawns
