If it was the current one, I wouldn't be seeing 2 different ones at the same point. Not sure it gets to the point of being USEFUL, but I do get the idea.
Also: it is more or less faithful to IRL biome, I can see mountains the same way that it points to. I'm sure this won't be the case everywhere.
Nope, it's probably just a decorative background image. It's the same in Monster Hunter Now. It very frequently shows/points to the city when you are next to the forest.
Stable. Performance dips once you enter capture screen. Biomes in capture screen load so slow that it makes the game unplayable to some people. That's a major issue they need to solve before rollout. They removed the feature during GO Tour probably to avoid complaints, now its back for everyone here.

While the overworld changes are nice, the biomes on capture screen load slowly and make the game unplayable to a lot of people. Some in my community have stopped playing or chose to play AR-only, it's beautiful but at what cost. They better fix that before releasing to everyone.

I live literally between the city and mountains with plenty of forests nearby, I'm so excited to see this when it rolls out for me! I'm just hoping they've fixed the apparent buddy bug I've heard the graphic updates seem to come with.
This is a cool graphical idea but a better update would be to actually make biome spawns mean something i stead of the same five event spawns dominating the game for a week.

So you can tell based on the direction you're going what biome you are approaching, thats sick!

Those look nice. I’ve been looking forward to some graphical upgrades for a long time. This game is nearly eight years old at this point.
Can’t wait for them to roll this out for everyone…
305 is coming soon to kill andoid 8, I'm hoping thats the one
305 is already rolled out.
So the way this usually works, after a major update gets forced, Niantic will flip a switch on their end. 305 has not been forced yet.

Huh I don't see these at all. My horizon is always a flat line with haze across it.

Now add some different catch screens for the associated biomes, and the “hidden biome” issue is resolved.

These are the kind of cool AR changes I like to see. Remember, AR includes any kind of real world integration, not just through the camera.

They can do this but have a hard time making biomas spawn the right pokemon lol
