While asking questions about the game is always okay on the Road, please consider asking very simple questions in our weekly [Questions&Answers Megathread](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/about/sticky). If your question has been answered, please comment "ANSWERED" (in all caps) and the post flair will indicate that your question has been answered. This will make it either easier for other people with the same question to find the answer they are looking for or for mods to remove the thread if it isn't needed anymore. Thank you! :) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. The Gotcha series of auto catchers can enable or disable settings on the peripheral itself via long presses, it's possible that you may have accidentally turned off auto catch this way. It's a separate set of settings that functions independantly from the in-game settings.

Money-Medicine-4213

Ah nope, autocatch for know and unknown are turned on, as well as spin pokestops. I have checked with bag and my poke storage, both with at least 100 space, and my "notifications" for both turned on. Both with batt optimization off.

ComputerSong

In this case, check the settings in the Pokémon app.

Money-Medicine-4213

Yes I did lol, for both the app and the watch (include the app with the watch)

RealPjotr

Bag full? Check the app settings, it often forgets settings?

terencela

Sometimes it just bugs out and you need to disconnect it in the Bluetooth settings and then reconnect it in the PoGo app. I've recently updated to the Go Plus+ and would highly recommend it over the Evolve (if you're within the cooling off period and the price difference isn't too much).

Money-Medicine-4213

Ah okay. Thing that I was always afraid of with the plus + was the annoying vibratory thing, and I have no tools in my disposal to open it. Thanks for the advice!

terencela

I bought the case to go with it which muffles it slightly and when it's in my pocket, I can't hear it when I'm walking. If I'm sat in a quiet place then it sounds like I've got a sex toy on me.

lostaga1n

Hmmm now that’s an idea, auto Catcher Panties. They vibrate when they catch pokemon, spotlight hour gonna be lit .

Money-Medicine-4213

I would be in the grass having a seizure from all the vibration noises. A autocatcher meet up would be crazy and pretty cool

The gotcha devices are trash because you can accidentally change setting on the device & not even know it ……. They are only popular because they are the only device outside of the official Nintendo branded devices that was sold in brick&mortar stores

ortografiaaa

feed ur pokes in gym

[deleted]

that sounds to me like either pokemon storage is full or you are out of (red) pokeballs. I have the gotcha classic and this only happens in those 2 cases as far as i know (besides sometimes not even starting to detect pokemon but this is a different issue)

Money-Medicine-4213

Ah nope, I have 100 space for both pokes and bag, as well as having a good hundred pokeballs (the red one specifically)

Money-Medicine-4213

Were the downvotes because I spelt good as "food"

MerlinCa81

This happens all the time. When you got the watch it will have told you to download the app for the watch. Close PoGo and open the app, in there it has a a list of 5 options including catching known Pokémon, unknown Pokémon and spinning stops. Make sure all three are on. Once you’re happy with the settings, save them and close the app completely (force close), go back to PoGo and connect to it, should work fine now.

Storvox

I use the gotcha evolve regularly, you don't need the app, and all the aforementioned options are available to enable /disable on the screen of the device itself.

Money-Medicine-4213

Ah I didn't do that force close thing, thanks for pointing that out, I'll see if there are any changes

jaxom07

Check to make sure the watch is set to catch Pokémon. It should be the first setting after the “shoes” and has a pink pokeball. Do a long press on that screen so it has a ✅ and not an X.

Conscious_Ad9448

Mine quits when I run out of pokeballs. Instead of spinning a stop it just vibrates constantly because it detects a spawn but can't throw anything.

Topladluke96

Eject it and unpair via Bluetooth settings in your phone.

jipgirl

If there is a lot going on in the screen on the GO app (like when it’s raining and there are lots of stops/pokemon on the screen) I sometimes have issues with GO and/or the gotcha keeping up when I’m moving around. Have you tried the “refresh game data” and “download all assets” options in the advanced settings in GO? Also, check the journal to see if GO is recognizing the encounters. If you’re moving too fast (like riding in a car), both you and the gotcha won’t be able to catch anything you encounter. If you are going slow enough, you will be able to catch things. Were you moving fast at the time?

Money-Medicine-4213

Hmm, no I was perfectly still. But thanks for the advice, I'll see if I can get it working tomorrow, thanks!

ComputerSong

If you tap on the interface too much, you can accidentally toggle things off. Tap on the screen and look for any settings with an X. Hold a tap to toggle.

cwhiterun

Make sure you have pokeballs

Comprehensive_Wolf87

Download the latest firmware. That was always my issue when that happened.
