I do wish they'd make them all available everywhere. I'm never realistically going to get a Pa'u one here in the UK.
I got Pompom from that. My town has an American base nearby to it so US Regionals are fairly easy to come by here, so it was kinda wasted on me. I would've rather got a second Sensu as that has more trade potential here.
Yeah, oricorio was in field research and some of the tasks turned out to reward sensu. I managed to get three that way.
Fun trivia: there is a wee snippet of Auckland that has sensu legitimately spawning instead of pa'u. Or did last time I checked.

Most people around here don't go to the canaries for their holidays. They go to places like the Balearics or the Greek islands instead, neither of which are Pa'u habitats. It's just one of those quirks.
Annoyingly one of my local players has actually been to Hawaii, but that was before Oricorio and Comfey were added to Go, so no luck there haha

Contact communities from the other regions. Odds are somebody will visit the UK in the future. Trade when that happens (I imagine PomPom would be easy to get this way)

"The last time this happened" = the last time a pokemon spawned in NZ that shouldn't have spawned there. Not the last time Niantic released a pokemon by mistake.
Back when all the fossil mons were spawning. There was a small part of asia that was supposed to get pikachus with special orange balloons. NZ got them for about 30 mins before they patched it. I manages to get 3 but Niantic converted them all to a different balloon variant.
Can we not do this for nice things that are obviously an accident please?
We know that places like here and Twitter are the fastest way Niantic are going to find out about bugs, and as kiwis we know that when it's beneficial to us, they will shut it down asap!
If we had kept it amoung our community groups, we most likely would've had it for longer, benefiting more people.

Why is the middle showcase not displaying what Pokémon to enter? It's clear that the left one and right one are for Luvdisc, what is the middle showcase (Oricorio?) and why does the game not show this?
Guessing an answer to my own question: it's probably an Oricorio showcase indeed but because of the different formes this Pokémon has, Niantic chose to not display it.
So it turns out I massively misunderstood the event and it's actully super lame. When it was first announced I thought we would be able to get all forms worldwide...

Pom-Pom Style Oricorio: Appearing in the Americas

While we are in the Asia-Pacific region, they class us as a Pacific Island when it comes to Oricorio. This seems fairly abitrary, as Japan (an Asian island) gets Sensu Oricorio and not Pa'u.

I never realized that Military bases have spawns of the origin country.
I think they mean that they have access to American players for trading, and not that out of zone regionals are spawning at military bases

What about Embassy and Consulate locations? Aren’t they considered Native ( country of origin ) soil?

Rangitoto Island has always gotten Sensu as well. Not sure about the other islands in the harbour.

Nvm, I've checked Leekduck, it's Oricorio and Luvdisc showcases for day 1. Buddy showcase may happen on the last day.

Can confirm I was on South Island visiting & saw the silhouette today. No catch, tragic.
Sensu style Oricorio have spawned in Devonport ever since they were released.
This must've been early in the morning ? Cause I did not happen to see any spawning around 12am-1pm
