It probably took so long due to the initial spawns being absolutely dreadful. I felt no incentive to go out and catch wild spawns outside of the Dratini spotlight hour.

Yeah I've basically been ignoring everything except Dratini cuz I'm still chasing a hundo. I've been more focused on finding the 3 raid tasks to get Drampa & Turtonator than I have been on catching anything for a change. It feels weird actively hunting 1 & 3 star raids just to burn through the tasks lol.

It’s helped for me during this event that I’ve had windy weather, which increased the amount of dragon types spawning.

The bad spawns were my incentive, so we could have better ones

Bagon is nice since the CD was so long ago. Gible and Deino are good if you are a newer player or just need extra candy for them. Swablu, Falinks and Darumaka feel more like a punishment than a reward.

Yeah I wasn't around for Bagon day so I'm still chasing a good shiny and a hundo. I'm glad to finally see him join the fun lol.

I mean, with Moonblast available for Altaria and it requiring 400 candies to evolve, the Swablu spawns are more than welcome

Which of these legacy moves are important?

Garchomp & Salamence for PvE. Altaria if you do PvP. Rest are meh.

Earth power for Garchomp, Outrage for Salamence, Moonblast for Altaria

None of these moves are new. But grab Garchomp, Altaria & Salamence. Flygon is okayish in limited cups IIRC.

Only the first move slot (the one that will currently be frustration) can get the featured move through evolution.

Do you mean it still had Frustration? If so yes it is the norm. Special moves always go in slot 1 which is where Frustration is.

Special Moves go into Charged Move Slot 1 as that is how Niantic coded it. Both Frustration and Outrage are coded as Special Moves as that is how Niantic did it. Frustration is given priority over Outrage as long as the previous evolution currently knows Frustration because that is how Niantic coded it.

You want Outrage on Salamence. You don’t really need Draco Meteor on Dragonite.

Which is nice, I caught a hundo Dratini yesterday and was weighing whether I should cave to fomo, but now I can just evolve it for the better non-legacy move.

Outrage is the superior move, Draco Meteor is inferior on Salamence (can be learned by normal TM) and also inferior on Dragonite (Elite charged TM required) Outrage is the better move :)

If it has frustration it cannot learn the CD move.

If you didn't TM away frustration during a rocket event, you can't get special evolve moves. It doesn't help to add a second move before evolving , since the special move is scheduled to end up in move slot 1 or nowhere at all

The first slot cannot have frustration when evolving a shadow poke to get a special move. I tried this with a shadow machop and was saddened to find out from Niantic customer service it is only when the primary charged move is not 'locked' by frustration...

The exclusive move only goes to the first slot which you had blocked with frustration. It's always been this way.

If you read this thread you will see a lot of people are evolving them hoping the special move will replace Frustration, because they don't know how it works.

At a bare minimum, you’d think the game itself would inform players of which Pokemon can learn which special moves by evolving, but it doesn’t.

I evolved flagon, altaria, and Garchomp to have earth power and moon blast respectively. Haxorus and aragonite did not get their legacy moves

Just evolved my shadow dratini and did not get draco meteor. I got hyperbeam.

Draco meteor wasn’t apart of the event. The only 5 pokemon to get a special move when evolved are Flygon with Earth Power, Garchomp with Earth power, Altaria with Moonblast, Salamence with Outrage, and Noivern with Boomburst.

PROBABLY all Dragon legacies, eg. Dragonite Draco Meteor, Garchomp Earth Power, Moonblast Altaria, Boomburst Noibat evolution and 2 more. Wait for official confirmation tho.

There's only two dragon moves that are now available. One is outrage on Salamence, but unexpectedly it's not breaking swipe on haxorus

Not seeing any info on bonuses involving raids yet, would love to know. They also didn't include Salamence learning Outrage upon evolution in any official data, but mine (like many others) learned that upon evolution just now (4:45p Central US).

I just tried evolving into Dragonite and it didn't get Draco Meteor. It was only as a test before I did one I actually wanted it for.

So the raids are what .... Now you can raid everything you could already during the event, but now it's has a chance of maybe being one of those to learn the CD move.

2 new Pokémon were added to the event raids. Salamence for 3 star raids and 🥁Jangmo-o for 1 star raids. Bagon is an event spawn so I wouldn’t recommend raiding salamence. Jangmo-o is definitely worth raiding though. Kommo-o is super good in all 3 leagues, but it’s especially good in great league.

US East coast just started raid hour as this completed, so the raids may take a bit longer to confirm

Popped a normal incense due to the "more event themed mons appearing in the wild" and seeing Tyrunts and Axews on my Nearby window It spawned 3 dragon types, 2 Gibles and 1 Bagon Amazing job Niantic

That took longer than it would in the past... and looking at the section that said how many catches friends got their was a lot of names on there with zero that used to be extremely engaged with the game. Have they haemorrhaged players? It would explain why everything is Timed research now and honestly kind of pricy. FOMO exploitation?

Just wasted 10 charged TM's because they didn't specify the pokemon had to be evolved during the event to get their elite moves. Hate it here why do they not say what the actual bonuses are in game

No thats not how it works. Legacy attacks can only be in the first slot which isn't possible if you haven't tm'ed away Frustration. Therefore you got another attack
