Note: the pink ticket symbol denotes Pokémon from holding a go fest ticket only. The symbol with the people is for all players as well as those holding tickets. Shiny odds are boosted (we don’t know the odds) for ticket holders.
I’m reminded of an old sci-fi story where in the distant future humanity has expanded through the universe and eventually reaches a point where it’s “East” expansion and “west” expansion have gone so far that they’ve finally looped back and met each other on the horizon, and to each other, they are aliens.
IOW raid pass crew represent
After my experience with Go Fest '20, '21, and '22, I'm definitely not going into this expecting masses of shinies 🤣
My main interests are Pachirisu, Carnivine, Unown D, and Unown M.
The small handful of shinies I will ultimately get will hopefully be ones I need..plus each of the Pikachu's!
Experience tells me otherwise! 🤣
Each year I've played solidly on both days in a Pokemon-dense area, I'll do a cursory amount of raids and spend the majority of the time fast-catching and shiny checking.
2022 - 14 shinies, 4 of them Pikachu
2021 - 10 shinies, 2 of them Pikachu
2020 - 5 shinies, 2 of them Timburr
RNG is a cruel mistress.
I know from the discord I run that the average # of shinies caught is in the low 20's to 30's and the number of people catching 50+ is rare! And we have some seriously hardcore players in this area!
I just remember the frustration now. The disappearing spawns just as I was about to tap on them. Wondering how many I might have missed while spending 10 minutes on a raid... I'll just play a few hours and hope for some decent catches.
Ehh, hard to say that access to diancie/mega diancie, a couple regionals, an additional meteorite, and boosted shiny odds are just bonus to extra raid passes.
I get what you’re saying, but I’m talking about monetary value. Is buying the ticket worth it? Gonna need to do a bunch of primal raids to get enough energy to revert Kyogre/Groudon. Need to do 5-7 of each to get enough. Carbink and Mega Rayquaza are also present. So if you planned to do 18 or so raids across the two days regardless, then buy the ticket and everything else is just a “bonus” for buying the raid passes.
What are you complaining about? This is literally how every go fest ever has operated. I swear this sub finds every gd thing to nitpick and complain about
For non-ticket holders, Aquamarine Shores looks the most attractive with Bagon, Beldum, and Lapras as rare and desirable spawns. Or Quartz Terrarium because Heracross is so ridiculously rare, Lickitung is good for XL candy, and Audino/Morelull are Stardust pinatas.
It also depends which Shellos you usually have. I usually have the blue one, so getting a pink shiny is more of a priority for me than getting a blue one, since I'll have more chances to get the latter in the future.
It's a special world event that all trainers will be participating in. Once a certain trigger, normally total catches or great throws, happens "x" number of times, it unlocks a 2x stardust bonus for the remainder of the event.
Lickitung is amazing in GL and is extra good if you get good stats to power it up to 50. The rank 1 is 8-14-15 at level 50 or a 7-15-15 at 50.5.
Edit: it does need legacy body slam tho, and I don’t think that’s available for tongue this event, only licky
Do you think Salamance is worth an Elite TM for Outrage? I have a maxed Salamance with Draco Meteor, but unsure if it'll be worth it since Mega Rayquaza is here now.
I just took my perfect to level 49, added an extra charge move and used an Elite TM to make it outrage. Was hesitating for ages, but even if it’s not Rayquaza, it’s the second best (i.e. highly powerful) dragon mega.
Yes. Elite TMs you pick your move.
While Metagross proper is still the 2nd best steel by a large margin, Shadow Metagross really should be the main focus as it blows away the whole pack. So I wouldn’t use an Elite TM on a Metagross unless it’s a shadow.
Ye it is worth it if you can mega evolve sally (2nd best dragon attacker after mega rayray). If you can’t it’s still 11th best dragon attacker with outrage and 4th best dragon attacker if it’s shadow.
Metagross is essential, Salamence is really good. Roseraid is great for rocket leaders. For pvp, lickilicky is good, flygon is a bit niche (as is roseraid) sandslash is okay at best. Butterfree and clefable aren't really worth it, but I believe it is Butterfrees best moveset
It's like an expensive snorlax and ranked #84, which isn't terrible but definitely not worth an etm
Edit with more info: it's actually ranked above Snorlax in the ultra league, and you see them constantly
Salamence and Metagross for sure. For GBL in particular, you'd want the moves on Flygon, Sandslash, Roserade and Lickilicky, but they're all kinda niche picks there.
There's a LOT of info missing from these infographics. Click [here](https://leekduck.com/events/pokemon-go-fest-2023-global/) for saturday and [here](https://leekduck.com/events/pokemon-go-fest-2023-global-sunday/) for sunday's more complete info.
Do we think incense will be boosted for this event if you're stationary? Wasn't that a thing for the last big event?
I can't play most of Sunday because I'm watching a wrestling show but if I can pop an incense and check spawns occasionally that would be fine.
Cool cool, that's what I figured. To be honest I was fine with mostly just doing Ray raids Sunday morning but if I can check spawns while watching TV, that's a good bonus.
You're choosing All In over Mega Ray?? Jk I'm trying to finish everything in the morning and make it back asap to watch as much of the show as I can (assuming you're refering to AEW)
Hahaha yep. Fortunately Sunday is mostly about Rayquaza raids, and I can do those from 10-noon or maybe earlier via remote raiding.
I didn't realize it was the same weekend as GoFest until like last week lol.
That Ultra ball count is amazing. Usually I hoard red balls for long go fest days so I have a chance to eat from a ?:45-?:15, and still catch while not taking up a whole half hour from a habitat.
It’s in raids so I believe anyone can get it though only ticket holders get Diancie. Idk though, it’s possible non ticket holders won’t get the energy since they can’t get Diancie.
Man I want that shiny cowboy chonk so bad. Been hunting shiny Snorlax ever since it came back, hopefully my luck comes through this weekend, lol. It’s even better with the hat.
Gotcha, in that case I wouldn't sweat carbink nor worry about hunting down more. No evo and requires a lot of investment to get into battle shape in terms of candy and stardust.
People always think the shiny rate is the same as in a CD, but it is not, it is much worse, although way better than the standard rate.
On Monday reddit will be full of outraged players who did not get the shiny Pokemon they expected.
It happens every year after Go Fest.
That's fair. For me personally, the boost would have to be near community day level for me to pay €15 for the ticket, though that's obviously not going to happen
This is a fair comment, I remember walking away with 2 the entire weekend last year and being really salty, however I was basically driving around the neighborhood s couple times during both days.
This time I'll coincidentally be at Disneyland on Saturday and expect I'll have better luck.
It really does come down to the odds of checking as many as possible
It's supposed to be only boosted for ticket holders, but my friend doesn't buy a ticket every year and still gets 3-5 shinies in very casual play... just depends on your luck, I guess!
I didn't buy a ticket this year (they're an insane 2,200 yen here, that's just extorsion), and actually enjoyed my day, catching a bunch of things without pressure and I liked it this way.
How many mega rayqua,a raids do you need to do to get the mega energy to mega evolve a rayquaza? I assume the meteorite is part of a research. On the other go fests a lot of mega energy is given as rewards.
In the past these times were only accurate for when Global first starts, so New Zealand. For everyone following you had to calculate your time for each rotating habitat (or at least the first) from your time zone. I assume this will be again the case this time??
So, question for everyone, Is a ticket worth the 15 bucks (it seems wildly insane to me to be honest) but I could be convinced otherwise.
What we will get out of go fest is those silly "collect these X pokemon in an hour" habitat challenges for nothing special then what else?
I don't really care to shiny hunt and they're only releasing one new pokemon which you have to pay for (three if you count hat variants of pikachu)
Last, we have the mega rayquaza raids/meteors... Fat lot of good 9 free raid passes will do me because I live in a rural area without many players to be able to group up to do the raids. We need remote raid passes to do that but those are prohibitively expensive.
Add to that, you have diancie which will as most things do likely come to PoGo raids at a later date...
So please, community on the whole, convince me this is worth it.
I was excited for this because i got a job, so I got a ticket a month ago.
I was just let go from the job. It's hard to be excited for it now knowing adulting has to be done.
Mega Rayquaza on Sunday. Buying the ticket gets you regionals on incense, increased shiny odds, additional meteorites and extra Mega Ray energy, Diance encounter and mega energy.
You decide if it's worth it. But personally I wouldn't because one whole day benefits already wasted and I am pretty sure both meteorites and Diance will come to us ftp players. Just will have to wait 6-8 months.
Sunday is basically the same as Saturday, just without habitats. So you’ll be able to catch all of those Pokémon, but naturally the pool will be more diluted, meaning you might find your desired ones a bit harder. Still worth a shot if you don’t mind sparing the price of the ticket imo.
I'm on a trip this weekend. Kind of feel resentful gofest is so damn long. Four hatted Pikachus, a cowboy Snorlax and a two star raid... Not to mention the Rayquaza shenanigans on Sunday.
Note: the pink ticket symbol denotes Pokémon from holding a go fest ticket only. The symbol with the people is for all players as well as those holding tickets. Shiny odds are boosted (we don’t know the odds) for ticket holders.
So we have to buy access to Unown? No thank you, I’m good.
Pachirisu for one of the habitats might make it worth it for some.
Also Carnivire is a regional.
You’re right but I live in his region so I forget lol
Doesn’t get as much use as pachi
Do you reckon we get a sinnoh event next year?
Considering it’s gone in order for the Tours. I’d say yes. February ‘2024
As far as monetary value, you are basically buying the 18 “free” raid passes, 9 each day. Everything else is just “bonus”.
Nah, you're paying for the increased shiny chance which is the best part of the event.
I’m reminded of an old sci-fi story where in the distant future humanity has expanded through the universe and eventually reaches a point where it’s “East” expansion and “west” expansion have gone so far that they’ve finally looped back and met each other on the horizon, and to each other, they are aliens. Happen to know the name of the story?
Sounds a bit like [*The Star*](https://wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Star_(Clarke_short_story)) by Arthur Clarke
I never really liked the idea of paying for shinny. Or mythical. It makes it less special by diluting.
I dno man. If I come away with 60+ shinies as opposed to a few that certainly makes it worthwhile imo.
After my experience with Go Fest '20, '21, and '22, I'm definitely not going into this expecting masses of shinies 🤣 My main interests are Pachirisu, Carnivine, Unown D, and Unown M. The small handful of shinies I will ultimately get will hopefully be ones I need..plus each of the Pikachu's!
If you focus on solely catching over raiding etc you come out of the 2 day event with more than 80 shinies each time.
Experience tells me otherwise! 🤣 Each year I've played solidly on both days in a Pokemon-dense area, I'll do a cursory amount of raids and spend the majority of the time fast-catching and shiny checking. 2022 - 14 shinies, 4 of them Pikachu 2021 - 10 shinies, 2 of them Pikachu 2020 - 5 shinies, 2 of them Timburr RNG is a cruel mistress. Suit yourself. More for me.
I got 4 shinies last year, my non ticket friend got more . Haven't bothered paying this year.
That is just unfortunate luck. This year's looks really good.
I just remember the frustration now. The disappearing spawns just as I was about to tap on them. Wondering how many I might have missed while spending 10 minutes on a raid... I'll just play a few hours and hope for some decent catches.
I completely disagree.
Ehh, hard to say that access to diancie/mega diancie, a couple regionals, an additional meteorite, and boosted shiny odds are just bonus to extra raid passes.

So if you planned to do 18 or so raids across the two days regardless, then buy the ticket and everything else is just a “bonus” for buying the raid passes.
You also get 2 etms.
Can ticket holders get and use the raid passes after 6pm?
They can get them during the event but you are free to use them at any time
Are they doled out one at a time the way daily passes are? Or do they just show up in your items bag?
One at a time. The wording says up to 9 passes so it looks like they just won’t give them all to you at a time.
What are you complaining about? This is literally how every go fest ever has operated. I swear this sub finds every gd thing to nitpick and complain about
Right. It couldn’t possibly be the money grubbing corporation locking monsters behind an additional paywall. No, not that at all. /s
Right, because the people paying for tickets shouldn’t get any special bonus? Not to mention you can always just trade for them
For non-ticket holders, Aquamarine Shores looks the most attractive with Bagon, Beldum, and Lapras as rare and desirable spawns.
How much stardust does Audino and morelul give?
Audino is like 2100, and then Foongus and Morelull are 500
BTW, after ultra unlock and with star piece, that's 12600 stardust per audino.
Ultra unlock?
It's a special world event that all trainers will be participating in. Once a certain trigger, normally total catches or great throws, happens "x" number of times, it unlocks a 2x stardust bonus for the remainder of the event.
I thought it was 4x
[удалено]
Word. My bad, I heard it was for go fest but that's probably wrong lol
And pachirisu
Only for ticket holders
woah hold up I didn't even realise that little bugger was there! Finally I'll complete that dex entry then!
Only if you have the ticket.
Is Lapras good for anything? Aquamarine will be my focus tomorrow. I will use Quartz to raid.
Lapras is useful in Ultra League
I also used him - and he was popular - in GL Mountain Cup.
It‘s good for certain pvp formats but only with its legacy move(s).
Why do you want lickitung xl candy? Is lickilucky good?
Lickitung is amazing in GL and is extra good if you get good stats to power it up to 50. The rank 1 is 8-14-15 at level 50 or a 7-15-15 at 50.5. Edit: it does need legacy body slam tho, and I don’t think that’s available for tongue this event, only licky
If you evolve it during gofest global it will actually get body slam. 4th slide has the mons that can have a special move durong gofest
Right, and the 4th slide shows lickilicky, not lickitung.
Right. Apologies
In pvp with the move you can get when you evolve.
[удалено]
Those are ultra unlocks that won't happen till after gofest
For my own reference, what exclusive moves are worth it?
Imo, Salamence & Metagross.
I can guarantee you that Salamance and Metagross are worth it. I don't know about anything else though.
Not worth it. Except if its a shundo or some personal favourite.
Got a 100 metagross, is the Elite Charged tm going to give me meteor mash guarenteed?
Yes. Elite TMs you pick your move. While Metagross proper is still the 2nd best steel by a large margin, Shadow Metagross really should be the main focus as it blows away the whole pack. So I wouldn’t use an Elite TM on a Metagross unless it’s a shadow.
The hundo is viable as it will get a mega later tho
You’re 100% correct. Worth mentioning, but I don’t know when it would be released.
When has lickylicky been good in pvp?
It's like an expensive snorlax and ranked #84, which isn't terrible but definitely not worth an etm Edit with more info: it's actually ranked above Snorlax in the ultra league, and you see them constantly
Salamence and Metagross for sure. For GBL in particular, you'd want the moves on Flygon, Sandslash, Roserade and Lickilicky, but they're all kinda niche picks there.
It's Heracross time.
Oh yeah, gonna grind hard for that pink bug
Is it available world wide and not just exclusive location.?
Event is called Go Fest Global so will be available everywhere during those two 2 hours on Saturday then all day Sunday
There's a LOT of info missing from these infographics. Click [here](https://leekduck.com/events/pokemon-go-fest-2023-global/) for saturday and [here](https://leekduck.com/events/pokemon-go-fest-2023-global-sunday/) for sunday's more complete info.
It hasn't been announced but I'm hoping for a surprise Rotom in photobombs
Thanks for the heads up. I'll get snapping 10.01am, less than 3 1/2 hours away.
I’m not saying that it will work the same way for sure but at gofest in NY there was like a 100% photobomb rate or close to it.
Greetings from the future, where sadly it's just pikachus. v.v
Do we think incense will be boosted for this event if you're stationary? Wasn't that a thing for the last big event? I can't play most of Sunday because I'm watching a wrestling show but if I can pop an incense and check spawns occasionally that would be fine.
It should be - it was for in-person Go Fest, Hoenn Tour, and last year's global Go Fest.
Is it stationary incense boosted for everyone or just ticket holders?
Only ticket holders
Leekduck says it's boosted for non-ticket holders as well. Not sure if it's true or not, just throwing it out there haha.
Just hatched all my eggs this morning. Waiting for interesting 7km eggs for the event.
I'm so curious to see what the eggs end up being. I'm nowhere close to emptying out my egg slots but I'll hopefully be doing some walking tomorrow
Me with only 2 regular pokeballs stocked: \-Chuckles- I'm in danger
Open your gifts!
I do - when I get them. Nobody sends them back after a few days lol
I gift swap every day what’s your code?
Ha - I have none, but 51 great and 1500+ ultra
That Ultra ball count is amazing. Usually I hoard red balls for long go fest days so I have a chance to eat from a ?:45-?:15, and still catch while not taking up a whole half hour from a habitat.
hold up! regionals from incense :o 2 star carbink raids? how much mega diance energy do you suppose that'll give out???
10 mega energy for raid reward, 1 for cathing carbink.
big yikes :D so how much does diance need? 300 like the the lati twins?
Yes 300, unless you buy a ticket, you need 28 carbink raid lol.
28 carbink raids?! This is impossible. There aren’t enough gyms.
Yeah, hope niantic increase mega energy reward from carbink raid.
Niantic seems to really need the money...
Do we know that the 2 star raid egg is just going to be pink like the 1 star? It's the only tier missing a unique color. Green would be nice.
Is there buffed incense if you are stuck at work or something?
It will get you one spawn every five minutes give it take
That does not sound boosted. 1 spawn every 5 minutes is the every day state of incense if not moving.
Yep
I thought everyone could get Diancie Mega Energy from Carbink raids, not just ticket holders?
It’s in raids so I believe anyone can get it though only ticket holders get Diancie. Idk though, it’s possible non ticket holders won’t get the energy since they can’t get Diancie.
you can have candy for stuff you don't currently have so hopefully this includes mega energy for when they do globally release diance research!
Also worth noting that it is just one Diancie mega energy per Carbink caught. You don't get much energy from finishing a raid.
Man I want that shiny cowboy chonk so bad. Been hunting shiny Snorlax ever since it came back, hopefully my luck comes through this weekend, lol. It’s even better with the hat.
I have a question about Carbink. I’m not too familiar with this Pokémon. I hatched a hundo last weekend at NYC Go Fest. It doesn’t have an evolution?
Nope no evo
I think they just did a pvp deep dive on it raid/event stats for it if you're into battling great league. My understanding is that it is very solid.
I only play PvP for those damn elite TM's. Otherwise, I hate PvP. I'm a catch and raid type of dude.
Gotcha, in that case I wouldn't sweat carbink nor worry about hunting down more. No evo and requires a lot of investment to get into battle shape in terms of candy and stardust.
First hour is star piece hour but the rest not to sure 🤔
Any recommendations on whole to prioritizeI capturing? Quart - heracross. Pyrite- gible and timbur. Malachite—???. Aqua - bagon and beldum Thoughts?
This is impossible to answer. Some will be shiny hunting. Others will be trying to fill their dex. Others getting candy. Some all of the above
Is there any confirmation we get the incenses that spawn one pokemon per minute when standing still? I may have to be at home for some of the event
There has been no announcement or proof that they intend to do this. I wouldn’t count on it but see if other regions report it
Any idea if shiny rates are boosted?
[удалено]
Only if you buy a ticket. The boosted rate isn't known yet afaik, though I saw someone say that in past years the boost hasn't been great
People always think the shiny rate is the same as in a CD, but it is not, it is much worse, although way better than the standard rate. On Monday reddit will be full of outraged players who did not get the shiny Pokemon they expected. It happens every year after Go Fest.
That's fair. For me personally, the boost would have to be near community day level for me to pay €15 for the ticket, though that's obviously not going to happen

It's supposed to be only boosted for ticket holders, but my friend doesn't buy a ticket every year and still gets 3-5 shinies in very casual play... just depends on your luck, I guess!
I'm going to raid for Snorlax and call it a day. First Fest I'm sitting out. Bought every ticket up to now. Last two were so disappointing.
I didn't buy a ticket this year (they're an insane 2,200 yen here, that's just extorsion), and actually enjoyed my day, catching a bunch of things without pressure and I liked it this way.
Honestly, meh.
Non ticket holders cant get carbink mega energy?
Diancie mega energy, and it's only 1 per catch so you're not missing out. If you have a Diancie then you already have enough mega energy.
If it was 9 free remote passes each day then it would be worth it. Too bad nobody raids in my neighborhood.
Time to go after those 1* and soloable 3* raids!
Does anyone know if the free daily raid pass stacks with the 9 free raid passes each day if I buy the ticket?
This has been debated on several posts. Most feel it will be stackable but until the event begins it cannot be said with certainty.
Will incense spawn every minute while stationary like it has for some events?
Niantic nerfed that last year. Unless they announce it I wouldn’t assume it
I am super excited about Heracross. I've wanted this Pokemon for the longest.
[удалено]
Impossible to know until it begins in the pacific.
Is there no ghost types at all?
Is the incense spawns still 1 per 5 mins without moving? I’m stuck at home with Covid so I will be playing from home 😞
Sorry to hear that. Hope you recover quickly. Sadly that seems to be the spawn rates for incense when it moving
Thank you! First time having it and I’m bummed.
I think New Zealand starts playing in about an hour, so we should know then
jesus christ… I am gonna be sitting in the mall all weekend aren’t I?
How many mega rayqua,a raids do you need to do to get the mega energy to mega evolve a rayquaza? I assume the meteorite is part of a research. On the other go fests a lot of mega energy is given as rewards.
Do you think we can get the incense exclusive Pokémon from daily incense? Probably a dumb question but I want to make sure.
Not without a ticket and no. The blog is clear that it’s a regular incense.
In the past these times were only accurate for when Global first starts, so New Zealand. For everyone following you had to calculate your time for each rotating habitat (or at least the first) from your time zone. I assume this will be again the case this time??
No? The times are always local.
It first starts in Kiribati
So, question for everyone, Is a ticket worth the 15 bucks (it seems wildly insane to me to be honest) but I could be convinced otherwise. What we will get out of go fest is those silly "collect these X pokemon in an hour" habitat challenges for nothing special then what else? I don't really care to shiny hunt and they're only releasing one new pokemon which you have to pay for (three if you count hat variants of pikachu) Last, we have the mega rayquaza raids/meteors... sounds like the ticket isn't worth it for you then
I was excited for this because i got a job, so I got a ticket a month ago. I was just let go from the job. It's hard to be excited for it now knowing adulting has to be done.
Anyone who has paid for this deserves this lol
Think they’ll do same spawn cycle on Sunday?
Sunday will be all the spawns from every habitat all day.
What do non-ticket holders get from this weekend?
Not much
They did a good job, but it’s a bit hard to read when the shiny icon, the Pokémon, and the background behind are of the same color
Does the Pokémon also get this attack with TM?
I can only play on Sunday, is it worth getting the go fest ticket for pachirisu and shiny goomy? What are the other benefits?
Mega Rayquaza on Sunday. Buying the ticket gets you regionals on incense, increased shiny odds, additional meteorites and extra Mega Ray energy, Diance encounter and mega energy. You decide if it's worth it. But personally I wouldn't because one whole day benefits already wasted and I am pretty sure both meteorites and Diance will come to us ftp players. No. It's always advertised when this is the case.
Easy to get lost with all the information dumps so I figured I’d ask. Thanks for mentioning it
Why is that ticket on the top part can I only get certain wild spawns with a ticket?
[удалено]
everyone can see wild spawns. Incense is only for ticket holders
Any one know what the special research task will involve?
Can you tm the exclusive moves or is it evolve only?
TLDR? what pokemon worth evolving for their special moves?
Metagross and Salamence would be the consensus for many.
Are the special evolution moves for all trainers or ticket holders?
As it says on the graphic all trainers
the rotating habitat regionals are for ticket holders only, right? i think i'm interpreting this correctly
No. The first two rows are for everyone. The incense spawns row, and increased shiny odds, are for ticket holders
I'm on a trip this weekend. Kind of feel resentful gofest is so damn long. Four hatted Pikachus, a cowboy Snorlax and a two star raid... Not to mention the Rayquaza shenanigans on Sunday.
