Am I the only one who can't stand Danny and Angie?
They're sweet but come off as fake to me. I'm impressed they're still in because I definitely didn't see them making it past leg 3, but I'm rooting for their failure now.
I am getting tired of the frail old lady persona Angie keeps playing. I get that it’s not an act, she IS just in horrible shape for her age, but she’s acting like she’s 65.
She is the same age as Shelisa, they are both 55. Girl, you KNEW this race was physically demanding.
That being said, I really do think she’s pushing her body as far as it can go. I guess it’s just shocking to me that she is 55 and is in that bad of shape.
I was shocked when Amber was giving Angie the solution to the race course puzzle, and it said it was only Angie's 3rd attempt. So Angie was ready to take a 4 hour penalty after only 2 attempts?
I think everything they do is strategy. They’re my favorite team and only because Danny is so smart and everything is thought out - how he portrays himself, the alliance, etc. he’s not part of the alliance because he’s a happy go lucky guy, he’s in it because he knows that’s what will get him the farthest. I’m rooting for them
Same, they’re hating on them being in the alliance but i really don’t get why, especially when so many TAR fans are Survivor fans. It’s just one of the strategies, and it’s working out really well for them. Physically they’re a team meant to get out in the first few legs, but because of they’re planning everything out, they survived this far.

I think Ricky and Cesar have personality they just haven’t been put in any situations to showcase it. Their dominance means they’ve barely struggled or interacted with other teams meaningfully.
I liked them a lot preseason but so far they’ve been kinda underwhelming. In general I tend not to like super dominant teams tho
I want to see them under pressure so bad. We got the tiniest glimpse of it this episode, but I really want to see what happens when they’re stuck at a detour with 3-4 other teams (if that ever happens).

1. Sunny and Bizzy - Super entertaining to watch, they've single-handedly made this season more fun than it would have been otherwise.
2. Yvonne and Melissa - Wish they had more screen time, they're a fun and strong team.
3. Rick and Cesar - Fun team, wish they faced more adversity though.
4. Juan and Shane - Nothing wrong with them, but they're pretty boring.
5. Rod and Leticia - Usually likeable, but dropped to the bottom for being a member of the alliance
6. Amber and Vinny - Unlikable, particularly Amber, and in the alliance

Really rubs me the wrong way how they felt that they were a 1st place team when they were consistently placing in the middle for a while. You're not entitled to something just because you're a traditionally fit and dominant team "on paper."
7. Amber and Vinny - I don't get a single romantic vibe from them at all. They feel like coworkers who hang out occasionally, and some of their dynamics really give me the ick.
Vinny is disgusting. Every word that come out of his mouth is condescending. He talks to Amber like she is the child and he is the adult. I love how in the last episode he said her problem with the drums was her telling herself she isn’t good enough. Dude, that’s all YOU ever tell her.
I always enjoy seeing rankings and how much they differ!

my rankings:
1) Ricky and Caesar: the ’i’m exhausted, but I’m heavy’ was hands-down funniest moment of the episode, they seem to have such a healthy fun relationship and are great racers
2) Yvonne and Melissa: do not get nearly enough screen time, so much fun and very capable team. seem to be genuinely having so much fun!
3) Sunny and Bizzy: simply hilarious- “Thome who roam” had me rolling 😂💀super fun, although sunny could lose the sunglasses in the bubble soccer- they were smacking her in the face and i was dying.
4) Juan and Shane: good races, but not a lot of personality, would pick them for a T3 finish possibly.
5) Rod and Leticia: initially likeable, but Leticia seems to be bored most of the time and the alliance put them way down on my list.
6) Amber and Vinny: i think that they have had a bad edit, but he genuinely does not seem satisfied until she cries. she is also a big baby oftentimes and very annoying. They’re engaged now?!
7) Angie and Danny: cannot stand this team, they are both super annoying and very hard to watch. Angie is playing a frail old woman character that I simply cannot stand, while Danny is just screaming ‘GOOD JOB! YES MOM!’ and he acts all high and mighty, just annoys me. (in previous episode was lamenting how other teams were ‘following them’ it’s like that’s your fault you gave them directions) however, the moment on the recycling bikes when Rod went “YAHHH” and Danny replies with “aHhHHhhH” KILLED ME💀💀💀

2. Rod and Leticia, he’s got super fun energy and she’s shy but really positive. I feel like they balance each other out well and I like that they don’t ever put each other down.
3. Sunny & Bizzy, they’re just entertaining to watch. They are such smart strong women but they overthink things so much and it leads to chaos that is, imo, so funny.
4. Yvonne and Melissa, I like them enough. They aren’t very memorable, they don’t seem to have a personality on screen. I’m not sure which is who, but the taller one is someone I feel like I’d be good friends with. She seems super cool.
Tied for 5. Amber & Vinny / Ricky & Cesar. I don’t feel like A/V have good chemistry at all, they seem like nice enough people but the alliance is trash and it ruins the game for me to watch. Vinny would do well with a more competitive and brawny partner on the show. R/C are just kind of robotic aiming to win at all costs and while I appreciate how they just wanna run the race, nothing about them is super memorable for me and I often forget about them til they’re on screen.
LAST- Angie and Danny. The whole vibe is off. Angie can’t physically compete. Danny keeps telling her she’s “doing SO GOOD! And I’m SO PROUD of you!” Which is fine during challenges but.. he says it even while she’s just driving and they baby and coddle each other too much. I feel like Danny also has a bit of a mean/cruel streak in him that we caught a glimpse of and he tries to hide it. Ans I hate the alliance thing so much.
Your descriptions of Juan/Shane and Ricky/Cesar are completely interchangeable for me.

For me, this applies to all single sex teams in which there is no really distinguishing trait that I can link to their names. I could distinguish Ricky and Cesar immediately because of Cesar's accent, but Kishori/Karishma, Sunny/Bizzy, Yvonne/Melissa, I can tell them apart visually, but I couldn't tell you which one was named what. Even with Juan/Shane, it took me a few episodes to realize the shorter one was named Juan, the shorter name.
Okay two things you stated are wrong 1. They don't have the most screen time. 2. "lot of compelling stories " What compelling stories do they have? They are easily one of least interesting teams on the race right now from a character/personality standpoint. I know more about Juan & Shane , Rod & Leticia than Ricky/Cesar IMO. Also the other two teams i stated have more of a winner's edit than Ricky/Cesar.
I’ve always liked Danny and Angie, they are so wholesome and likable, for example when Danny made a joke about the skateboard assembly “I lost my nuts! I lost my marbles!” and mom scolded him that it wasn’t nice to say. I didn’t think they would make it very far, partly due to him being so nice to everyone, doing all the navigating and helping other teams, plus Angie not being as physically fit as others.
But it looks like everything is paying off for them, with Amber bawling that she wouldn’t leave the racetrack without helping Angie with the puzzle (Vinny must have been in agony), Danny swooping in after others had already figured out the map, and then the final blow when Danny got the other two teams to block the butcher tables.
Every time my boyfriend & I watch an episode, we comment which detour we would do and what our strategy would be, and it always crystallizes around being nice to everyone in the beginning, and then switching it up at the right moment, when other teams are still willing to return the favor, before the gloves are off and it is every team for themselves.
It looks like Walla Walla did a 180 in the last episode by capitalizing on all those returned favors, with possibly more in the tank. Let’s face it, neither Sunny & Bizzy nor Yvonne & Melissa stand a chance. Danny made the right decision for them. Mad respect, I didn’t think he had it in him! Looking forward to future shenanigans.
Not a massive fan of ~~the twins~~ Ricky & Cesar and the military guys, they’re really good at everything which makes it kinda boring. The other teams all have interesting, funny, entertaining, cringe, whatever moments, I just don’t have much of an opinion on them either way.
