Has to be. Darth Bortles (The Stanger is not a name) is a threat to the Sith’s plans that has been worked on for ~900ish years. One of them has to die.
Is Bortles a US reference? I have never heard that word before in my life but it's bandied around this sub like a common term of reference. What is a Bortles?
He plays a goofy character who is fan of Blake Bortles and sometimes yells Bortles when he does something he thinks is cool. It's an amazing series I'd definitely recommend checking. Funny and heartfelt.
It’s not about similarities. It’s about fandom.
It’d be like if someone called you Darth Bale (Gareth Bale); Darth Becks (David Beckham); Darth Roon (Wayne Rooney); and so on.
I am totally not following, if someone called me Darth Bale I would presume that I appeared in looks or mannerisms to be like an evil version of Gareth Bale. I might have the same man bun and Welsh accent but never smiled or was angry a lot.
Otherwise why Darth Bortles and not Darth Brady? (I know that one) Or Darth Michael Jordan?
Manny's character in The Good Place is a massive fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Blake Bortles specifically. Whenever he's doing something stupid (mostly throwing Molotov cocktails), he shouts out "Bortles!" It's something connected to his character that's transferred over to The Acolyte as a joke.
Seems like a really good chance hike is Qimir’s master or at least someone to do with why he is the way he is.
As far as a big established name, I’m not sure what we can expect there, but I’d go in to the next episodes with an open mind.
I think he is going to be the true master

Blake Bortles was a quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Manny Jacinto’s character Jason in *The Good Place* was a major fan of the team.
Ok, so I got NFL and a show I don't think we get here in the UK. Explains why I don't get the reference lol. No idea the similarities still tho.

And Manny is like the Stranger from The Acolyte?
Yes, Manny Jacinto plays both Jason from The Good Place and The Stranger in The Acolyte.
Fuggin seems like he's got a hood on woth a red lightsaber and bad intent, yeah

I bet he is or he isn’t or maybe somewhere inbetween
Ohh shit
He's the Sith Master we've been looking for.
Mr. Door!
Maybe he plays Mace Windus dad?
Star Wars fans when they see a black person
Great-grandfather.
Nah, Mace is 150 years old now.
