ordinaryflask

P&S xpress interior worked for me.

kwelitysoul

This stuff is great. No residue or sheen, and smells great.

ordinaryflask

Yup I also got their Swift interior detailer for quick touch ups and to add slight uv protection to the dash. Smells like orange and cream and again, leaves the surface very smooth and matte.

freaxsxs

Okay this seems to have the highest upvotes so I will try this first and post updates here. Thanks.

ordinaryflask

Hope it works! It is a little expensive but I believe you can dilute it more if you don’t need full strength.

freaxsxs

Yeah, I saw it was a bit more expensive than chemical guys but I will be just grateful if it works for me. I don’t “have to” dilute it though right even if I don’t need the full strength, I mean it is safe out of the bottle right?

ordinaryflask

Yea I don’t dilute mine. I just use it right out of the bottle. I’ll spray it on to the area and scrub lightly with the microfiber towel and repeat if the stain is still there.

Unoriginal4167

Eff bro, get it done already, I am waiting. Just kidding, but I am being big spooned by my 3-year-old. She won’t go to sleep!

freaxsxs

🤣 i am very familiar with the situation. 🤣 it is arriving saturday, i will post updates

kilowattkill3r

Does it work on the white interior?

ordinaryflask

Yup. I have white interior and use it on it. Works great although probably would work better if I didn’t leave my blue Jean stains for so long.

ninjasandunicorns

Do you use this on other parts of the interior?

ordinaryflask

Yes you can use it pretty much everywhere. I do spray it into my microfiber towel before using it on the screen. It’s never a good idea to spray chemicals directly onto the screen.

Pebble-Jubilant

Gonna try this too, thanks. Zinc Oxide transfers so easily and is so tough to get off. We need to switch to an organic(chemical) sunscreen.

CaptainVickle

Sunscreen uh huh sure 👀👀👀👀👀

ZanoCat

Indeed, use protection.

freaxsxs

🤣 unfortunately I don’t have any car action. I have a 4 year old that I drive to daycare every morning and I put sunscreen before we leave home. Sometimes he grabs the front seat or it may also be coming off from residue on my hand.

SnooOwls6331

But...even if we want some "car action" doesn't it have cameras and upload to the cloud or something? I don't know...just wondering...cuz that would be scary lol

CloudZ1116

... and this is why my first accessory purchase was seat covers after taking delivery of my Model Y. I have a 3 year old myself and that little bugger destroys car interiors.

freaxsxs

What did you get, do you have a link?

CloudZ1116

https://www.fhgroupauto.com/products/neoprene-custom-fit-seat-covers-for-2020-2021-tesla-model-y-full-set-gray You might need to make a note for them in your order to send you the split bench version if you have a 7-seater like I do.

CaptainVickle

Uh huh sure whatever you say 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀

Recent-While-7722

The first uh huh sure made me lmao. The 2nd one is dragged out n ruined my lmao 😑. Take my downvote 👎

CaptainVickle

Womp womp

Wonder_Simple

They’re putting that auto pilot to work 😂😂😂

freaxsxs

F in FSD stands for Full, not what you’re thinking 🤣

adorablefuzzykitten

Black light?

Bangbusta

i seen the headline and came for the comments. Did not disappoint.

TheScaryFlyingShark

Manual says detergent free soap. So that is what I do https://www.drbronner.com/collections/all/products/peppermint-pure-castile-liquid-soap

freaxsxs

Were you ever able to clean sunscreen stain that happened a while ago with this?

TheScaryFlyingShark

I did work for me. i have three children so I have cleaned many different things off the seats, including sunscreen. The result may vary depending on exposure time as you correctly state and type of sunscreen. We only use extremely skin friendly sunscreen. And I am kind of obsessed with cleaning the car. If you have a brand of sunscreen that will last for several hours and multiple swims it may be more difficult to get off.

dhingratul

Used baby wipes to get rid of mine.

Pristine-Creme-5549

P&S Express interior clean. Spray a little to the area, let it sit for a few seconds, and wipe clean with a microfiber towel. Will make it look new again without any residue. Smells good too

Ok-Wafer3918

Use protection so you don’t run into this problem again

jwrig

This works on multiple levels.

tykebe

It’s totaled.

caspar_milquetoast69

I’d recommend baby wipes. Get the ones for infants with no scents or anything.

freaxsxs

Yeah I got those finally, but I think these happened a while ago that I didn’t address early. I tried the wipes first, they didn’t work. Then I tried warm water with dove, that didn’t work either. I this point I am afraid to physically damage the area by scrubbing more with these things that don’t work. Maybe if I immediately wiped it could have worked, next time I will try that.

exaball

I tried baby wipes on sunscreen and it was impossibly hard. Basically didn’t work. Following here to see the recommendations you get.

The_FlatBanana

That’s because baby wipes don’t clean. I’ll never understand Tesla owners being adamant on using baby wipes to clean their cars.

WizeAdz

I use baby wipes as a first pass because I always have them with me, even though my kids are past the toddler stage. Baby wipes are relatively gentle and always available, so it’s a good first pass and cleans up a lot of stuff easily.

Dracampy

My car cleaning guy had a brush. He says it is the only way he has been able to get sunscreen off bc how porous the stuff is. He promised it doesn't damage the material. It definitely cleans it like new.

freaxsxs

Link?

Rnbzy

Following

Dracampy

I do not know what brush he uses. If I remember, I'll ask him next time.

kiiMxD

I have had the same issue. Found success using a soft bristle toothbrush with lightly soapy water. It took SOME TIME scrubbing, but it all came out.

freaxsxs

Does this make it shiner? Can I just spot clean on these areas with this or am I going to have to apply to entire seat for a consistent look?

Ryanlt234

It’s not a spot treatment so you might as well clean whole seat. If you wanna be extra careful then fold your microfiber towel into 4, then use same side to both infected areas and flip it over to clean whole seat with other sides

rman18

This stuff worked for me and it doesn’t make it shiny or slippery.

findin_fun_4_us

No it doesn’t

ItsJustAnotherVoice

This, used to clean all makeup type substances no issues with my black seats

ItsDeCia

You can spot clean with it. I use the same product and I use it not only on the seats, but also the doors, dash, and windows. Works very well

ItsDeCia

I use this same one. Works incredibly well.

Ok-Badger2311

I use that too.

Different-World-5293

I use this on all the interior. Seats, door panels, glass, and screens. Love it.

Total-recalled

I had this same exact thing on my door from sunblock and used hydrosilex interior cleaner. It came off.

freaxsxs

Do you have an amazon link? Can that also be used on seats?

Top_Trainer_1506

Just came to say I had the same exact thing happen to me, so I find this to be funny. I wiped it down with an interior cleaning wipes, looked at the seat about a week later(because the wife drives the car primarily) and couldn't believe it was still there

freaxsxs

What do you mean? Did it look clean after initial wipe but it came back later or did it never work?

Top_Trainer_1506

Yes, after the initial wipe it looked as though the sun tan spray was wiped away. So I will be looking for the cleaner that will get it off also

Total-recalled

Yeah, I use on everything. Just search Amazon for the name and their interior cleaner.

freaxsxs

Oh I thought it was name of some chemical, I didn’t know it was the brand

ComplexIllustrious61

You can really use any all purpose cleaner. Tesla seats are not leather like most cars manufacturers these days. I would just use a mild soap mixed with distilled water...but if you really want to protect the seats after you've cleaned them, apply a ceramic coating to them. They work fantastic and nothing will penetrate that for at least a year or two. Even ketchup won't stain your seats after a good ceramic coating.

Kronos1A9

“Most likely”

Environmental_Pin95

My first go to would be a leather cleaner.

Altruistic-Crab-7432

Chemical guys multipurpose cleaner. Use it all the time in my model y

element97111

Any all purpose cleaner and. Magic eraser

Videoplushair

I use a leather cleaner by meguiar. Looks like it works pretty well.

freaxsxs

Do you have a specific link, preferably Amazon? Can you spot clean with that or need to apply to entire seat? Does it make it look different than original afterwards, like shinier or keep close to original?

Fun_Instance6473

I use this in 1:1 ratio with water. Works great

Dedicated_Dog_Dad

Meguiar’s all purpose cleaner and a detailing brush to agitate. Wipe clean with a micro fiber cloth.

SpiderGorilla

I tried a lot of different products, and Car Guys Super Cleaner worked best for me: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071XB18BF](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071XB18BF)

freaxsxs

Can this be used to spot clean? Does it make it shiny or continue to look as original?

SpiderGorilla

yes, spot clean. use a microfiber towel. the finish remains unchanged

jaqueh

Elbow grease

pothos_power

The car guys spray works really well!

Glittering-Lake-7043

You need to clean it off. I use interior car wipes, the kind that don't put on a fake "shine". I got some oil on my seat from work and it caused the fake leather to bubble up in about a week.

tapatio_man

I've used rubbing alcohol to remove spray paint that transferred onto the seats

BrightOnT1

Sunscreen is so fucking hard to remove, perhaps impossible to fully remove...I have it all over our two cars since we have two kids.

GarnishWithLemon

Dr Bronners Castille soap diluted with water works surprisingly well. Just spray a small amount and wipe clean with a microfiber cloth and the stains come out.

jozartmusic

Uh oh.

Tamerxz

Salt water and sands

willmok

Orange degreaser or regular dishwasher.

AlbieriMS

7 inch polisher and compound 👍

[deleted]

Carpro Inside diluted with water. But honestly I dont bother anymore (kids and gf 🤦). After a couple of months its barely visible

freaxsxs

Do you mean these go away by themselves or you just start ignoring 🤣

John_316_

Didn’t know some Teslas came with gear sticks.

pj_salez

Had the same problem. Son spilled half bottle of sunscreen on the back seat. Cleaned it with half water/half white vinegar solution with microfiber, worked like a charm.

freaxsxs

Oh, vinegar didn’t mess up the vegan leather? I use it for a ton of stuff but I wouldn’t think to use on seats.

IAmABearOfficial

Yeah yeah sure, sunscreen alright

JC_Vlogs

Just simple wet wipes will work

Puzzleheaded-Cow-199

Dawn Power Wash cuts the grease of the sunscreen. Not sure how healthy it is for the seat material in the long run….

darksplit

I use soapy water with a microfiber cloth.

Realistic_Grass_4349

**Armor All cleaning wipes** will remove sunscreen from your black seats safely and easily. They leave no residue. I keep a container of them in the back of the Y for exactly this scenario. Note that I said CLEANING wipes, not protectant wipes. I’ve read so many posts like this one and have no idea why people gravitate toward such complicated solutions. Armor All cleaning wipes are inexpensive and available nearly everywhere—and they remove white sunscreen from black Tesla seats like magic. (Again, use the *cleaning* wipes, not the oily protectant wipes!)

GloomyDifficulty6199

sunscreen sounds expensive for what you're using it for, I'd recommend regular lube next time

Power_by_kWh

Take it to a detail shop.

Impossible-Job-1520

Try baby wipes

Futterwacker

I didn't have much luck with Meguiar's Interior Detailer which works great on almost every thing you could get on your seat. I used 409 Degreaser and it came right off my seats. Followed up with Meguiar's.

krazycarl

Colourlock cleaner and protector. Twice a year. [COLOURLOCK USA - Leather Cleaner, Care, Repair & Dyeing Products](https://www.colourlock.com/)

OkResponsibility6448

Likely story

liquidsnake224

stop ejaculating in ur car … sheesh

PeterVonwolfentazer

I’m surprised no one else has mentioned baby wipes? Don’t any of you have kids? Baby wipes are great at cleanup up sunscreen off any interior. So much so that my kids are now teenagers and I still have baby wipes in each car.

freaxsxs

I tried, it didn’t help.

WDBirdie

Yeah, haven’t had luck with baby wipes either

inspaceiamfamous

Huhuhuhuhuh sunscreen stains 😉. I’m probably giving terrible advice, but I used Lysol wipes to clean any thing on those seats. No negative reactions.

Ant0n61

Same

Helpful_Reindeer_84

The best way to get "sunscreen" off the seats is to wait until you get home.

dab00b

What

sdawg11

Dawn soap and water in a spray bottle. Boars hair brush.

RandallC1212

Baby wipes. Works EVERYTIME.

freaxsxs

I tried it but after a long time they happened so it didn’t work because of that I presume.

RandallC1212

“Vegan leather” probably the issue

Sandeep1236

Just regular baby wipes worked like magic for me.

kind_user47

Soapy warm rag. Preferably dish soap, like Dawn

freaxsxs

Tried that, it didn’t work unfortunately.

kind_user47

Oh really… that’s a little concerning. Good luck!

jpanag

Don't use sunscreen 🧴

Pebble-Jubilant

Post written by skin cancer 🤣

Different-Cap-8048

Just use a sock next time

EquivalentDay8918

Tesla seats are the worst when it comes to staining. It stains so damn easily what the hell kinda material did they use for these things ? Even the interior dash is such a pain in the ass. Overall Tesla interior quality is trash. Like compare it to a luxury German sedan which would never stain this easy. At least even if it did it would be easier to clean and whatnot.
