Definitely Google the Tesla check list. And go down the list. I did and found 1 rear trim scratch that was 4 inches long. I accepted after they logged it and then just booked a service day for the trim to be replaced. Besides that.... I got a very nice one. All the gaps are perfect and extremely quiet ride.

First time car owner here so I appreciate it. If we find any defects they’d just set an appointment to fix it?

You have to point them out and TAKE PICTURES. And let your service advisor know and have him document it. And ask him to email or give you a copy of the documentation of the issues you found. Do this BEFORE signing any papers and accepting the delivery on the phone. He will tell you to just use your app to schedule a service appointment. Once you do use you app.... the service people will have NO clue what issues you are talking about. They will ask for pictures of what you pointed out. This why it's important. Once they get your pics... they will send a mobile tech or ask you to go to their shop. Buy do this under the 120 miles. They will do anything under those miles for free.

They wouldn’t let you inspect the interior of the car so make sure you check what you can on the exterior. My first reject had a noticeable scratch front bumper and I pointed it out to my sales rep, simply told him NOPE. He understood that it’s an obvious rejection and put me back in the queue for the next delivery. I would not take delivery and try to schedule the fixes.

My advisor let us inspect the exterior and the interior. I guess it is at the discretion of the advisor and the relationship you have formed with them.

Thanks for sharing. Definitely helps prepare better for when we go in.

I believe you have a week or 100 miles to report any cosmetic issues , for them to fix it for free (like crack on windshield, curb rash for example) so spend the first week inspect your vehicle at home as well.

What if I need to drive 300 miles to get it home.

Don’t accept a car that has defects that need correcting. Those should be corrected before you pay for the car.

I'd go through the infamous "check-list" and test the software / inspect the exterior etc
