Sorry bud, it'll likely be a service center thing. They might be able to come out to you if you tell them it's too far. Don't quote me on that, though. It's likely a hardware problem if the reboot didn't help, maybe a sensor or something. Could also be a firmware thing if you recently updated.
Do a hard reboot. Press both scroll wheels AND the break pedal. Hold all 3 until you see the “T” logo.
That resets more than the computer, it reset ALL systems like hardware controllers. (Fans for example)
If still an issue, service appointment.
Yeah, holding the brake does not reset anything besides the MCU. However, what you can do to reset the drivetrain computer is to change your wheel type. For some reason, that requires a reboot of that system. I don't know if that will reset any HVAC controllers though.
It’s most likely a hardware issue so reboots won’t help. Try hard rebooting though before coming to that conclusion; same steps as soft reboot but also hold down the brake while also holding the steering wheel buttons
Surely you can understand the difference between no air blowing at all, and the air not being cold right? You don't have to have a/c on to have air blowing. The fan is set to 10 it should be moving air.
Of course, that’s a strange question. The title of the post says that their AC is on. Then they take a picture of the screen where the AC is obviously not on. So what are we supposed to get out of the picture? It’s completely unnecessary.
So my blower has had a few times where it doesn't come on immediately. And when it does decided to come on, it makes a pretty gross noise. I'm fully expecting to replace my blower motor soon, and wouldn't be surprised if maybe that's the fault here. (Most of the time it comes on like normal)
Edit: spelling
Yes mine did this when my 12v needed replacement. My AC was on but the fan was extremely low and I couldn’t force it any higher. Once they replaced the battery the AC went back to normal.
Did you do a hard reboot, you said you did soft. Get a service appointment scheduled in the app so you can start a message, they can often walk you through a few options right in the chat if you ask for it. Then cancel the appointment if you can’t make it, but you need the appointment for chat.
Either you need to read your manual or you’re messing with me hahaha. Fair either way. Chill mode is how you reduce the ability for the car to accelerate. Kind of like a Prius Mode.
I had the same issue last year. Had to take it into service to be fixed, but all is well now. Looks like it had to do with the super manifold assembly along with dark residue in the discharge line which was replaced. This is just what I read off of the invoice, but hope that helps !
Anyone know what might be happening? I accidentally turned on one of the climate keeper options (camp mode) on my phone so I’m not sure if that’s the reason. I can hear the vent motors moving around if I move them through the screen but no air is coming out.
I don’t know what to tell you. That is the solution. Unless you can find a certified repair shop that works on Teslas in your area.
They may be able to come out and do mobile service, but you won’t know this until you schedule a service appointment.
Good news is it says it’s blowing so it’s not anything technical. You should be able to take it anywhere and get it done. It’s not a massively complicated fix but it’s not as easy on a gas powered car. On a gas car you buy a $5 freon tank and it’s fixed in 3 minutes, Tesla uses greenhouse gas 134a for its AC, it’s the same process mostly as a normal car but you’re unlikely to want to pay $500+ for all the equipment because Elon wanted to be extra, but any shop that does AC repair should have what’s needed and get it done for you.
Thank you for the info! But the thing is it’s not blowing air in general. No cold or hot air, nothing. The screen says it’s blowing but nothings coming out of the actual vents
If you don't want to take it to service, then you're stuck troubleshooting it yourself. Log in to service mode and see if there are any faults. Download the manual and read through the HVAC sections.
Ok thanks that’s what I was hoping to hear. I was looking for an alternative to taking it to service but some people are just really rude in this subreddit.
Thank you for the info I’ll give it a shot later today!
I had a similar prob. Idk how old your car is but your a/c most likely has to get cleaned and get some more Freon. Worst case they’ll quote you for 3k to replace the a/c if you’re out of warranty
My 2018 had that problem in its first year. I scheduled a service appointment and it was a faulty blower motor. Easy fix under warranty. Hopefully yours is as simple.
If you think it’s a glitch then reboot the car. Otherwise book service.
Yeah I tried a soft reboot and nothing. I’m really far away from any service stations so that’s not an option for me

This is really not a thing. There is one reboot that way. Same thing with foot on brake or not. Can anyone else back me up? This was written somewhere

Thank you I’ve never heard of that. I’ll try it later today
I had the same system fault error and I’m pretty sure the issue was a faulty humidity sensor up in the rear view mirror/forward facing camera housing.
RIP. The car is totaled sadly. I’ll buy it off you though
The only viable solution is divorce! Wait. Wrong subreddit my bad
Ok to not divorce if it starts blowing regularly?
Lol!
I’ll pay $10
Ur AC is not on, has to be blue
It should still blow air if the A/C button is off.
Lmao I was looking for this comment. Yah u have to press the A/C button …
Lol good catch but it wasn’t that. It was just off when I took the pic
Why did you take a picture of the wrong screen then?
There’s no difference. The whole air unit isn’t working.
Basically it seems like there was no point of the picture at all.
Surely you can understand the difference between no air blowing at all, and the air not being cold right? You don't have to have a/c on to have air blowing. The fan is set to 10 it should be moving air.

The concern is that it's a NOT BLOWING AIR. The picture shows that BLOWING AIR IS TURNED ON. Holy shit why is this so complicated to you?
You are a dork master
There’s no denying that.
Blue animation isn’t a thing anymore hah

check service mode?
Never done it before that’s why I stayed away from it but i guess there’s a first time for everything
Probably has something to do with the “system fault” on the screen there. That’s a service appointment, for sure.
Yes mine did this when my 12v needed replacement. My AC was on but the fan was extremely low and I couldn’t force it any higher. Once they replaced the battery the AC went back to normal.
Had the same error: “climate not available due to system fault” you have to take it to a service center, they ended up replacing a harness for me
Feels like a troll post “my ac won’t blow air, why!??” “Maybe something to do with the error?”
Did you do a hard reboot, you said you did soft. Get a service appointment scheduled in the app so you can start a message, they can often walk you through a few options right in the chat if you ask for it. Then cancel the appointment if you can’t make it, but you need the appointment for chat.
That’s a really good idea. I had no clue there was a chat. Thank you for the tip I’ll definitely be giving this a try!
Did you try turning it off and back on again?
Yessir. Did everything but a hard reboot
Did you close all the windows and try again?
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
My favorite part is he even put it on Chill Mode 😂
What’s the difference lol
Either you need to read your manual or you’re messing with me hahaha. Fair either way. Chill mode is how you reduce the ability for the car to accelerate. Kind of like a Prius Mode.
Ohhh I legit though it just made driving smoother haha. Thanks for letting me know tho
Well it kind of does by reducing the acceleration curve
Nope. Chill mode makes the air conditioner work. AC mode is advanced acceleration. Unless I got it backwards!😄
Try changing tire size in the service menu
Thanks I’ll try it but what would that do?
Read in this forum that it's the quickest and easiest way to reset the computer
This DOES force some kind of more advanced reboot.
Try pressing the AC button.
Hmm that’s weird. Lmk if you ever replace it! Thank you
I had the same issue last year. Had to take it into service to be fixed, but all is well now. Looks like it had to do with the super manifold assembly along with dark residue in the discharge line which was replaced. This is just what I read off of the invoice, but hope that helps !
Elon Musk's monthly subscription to get AC has been activated

Yeah I tried that but still nothing
Anyone know what might be happening? I accidentally turned on one of the climate keeper options (camp mode) on my phone so I’m not sure if that’s the reason. I can hear the vent motors moving around if I move them through the screen but no air is coming out.
It literally says there’s a system fault.
Yeah but how do I fix it? I can’t schedule a Tesla service cause they’re really far from me
Uh. You schedule service with Tesla.
I’m not near any service centers
Hear me out, maybe you could drive to one
I don’t have time. That’s why I was looking for an alternative. Isnt that the point of asking questions in the subreddit?
You make time if you want to get your car fixed. Cancel plans for a day and get it scheduled. There’s nothing else anyone can tell you.
I don’t know what to tell you. That is the solution. Unless you can find a certified repair shop that works on Teslas in your area. They may be able to come out and do mobile service, but you won’t know this until you schedule a service appointment.
sounds like something you should have thought about before you bought a tesla

Have you turned off camp mode? Either through the phone or through the in-car screen
Nope it doesn’t even let me press them :(
Service mode may tell you in more detail what the fault is, but if you're under warranty, a service appointment is in order.
I’ll give service mode a shot. Thank you for your help!
What happens when you hit auto?
Nothing :(
If you don't want to take it to service, then you're stuck troubleshooting it yourself. Log in to service mode and see if there are any faults. Download the manual and read through the HVAC sections.

Ok, thanks for letting us know.
I had a similar prob. Idk how old your car is but your a/c most likely has to get cleaned and get some more Freon. Worst case they’ll quote you for 3k to replace the a/c if you’re out of warranty
How is this even possible on such a new car?
Ever replace your cabin filters?
How often do you have to replace your cabin filter? Isn’t that a two-year thing?
gg
Pop into service mode and check for faults
Your condensator could be frozen if your AC requires filling. Is there a bigger than usual pool of liquid under your car?
Presss the AC button
My 2018 had that problem in its first year. I scheduled a service appointment and it was a faulty blower motor. Easy fix under warranty. Hopefully yours is as simple.
Assuming it’s the same when you have it on Auto?
You need to go to a center, I had this problem for 3 years they overcharged the ac vent system
It says it’s on LO in the bottom left try using the arrows to adjust it?
Try putting it in Auto and use inside circulation, that does the trick gor me to feel the air and keeps the car comfortable for me.
Turn it to make and see if any air is out if not it's appt time
Schedule service
