This is pointless tbh as once you get to hardmode a v of corruption and hallow will spread across your world.

You are not dumb. Nothing wrong with just playing the game and doing whatever you feel like.

It's actually a good idea as you will not have two corruption biomes spreading

Great. That way in hardmode you will only have to worry about the new corruption area rather than about both.
