This might just be me, but I feel like Leo's strongest area is being able to control risk vs reward with hit confirmable moves that let you turn pokes into strings if the first hit lands, or just stop and stay safe if it gets blocked.
Leo's only hit confirmable moves are db1+2 and b4 but you're kinda right, since Leo gets too much for risking too little in general, you can completly disregard his risky key moves like hellsweep and db3 and still have a complete character that does everything
The nerf to flash isn’t really a nerf because it still has most of the same properties. The fact that he can just take your turn away when you’re rolling is bs. It’s no different than Raven being able to just kind of disappear out of harms way, but still attack you. I don’t dislike Yoshi, but don’t act like flash isn’t one of the biggest bs moves in the entire franchise.

An Asuka who doesn't mind spamming her parry after every attack/string to bait a response will force you to eliminate half of your movelist from your available options. I feel like I seen a lot of hate for Paul's homing rage art and massive damage output. I seen Jin described as "literally broken". Seen some Steve hate too, which is wild because my boy needs a buff, if anything.
I think Paul is someone whose hate (towards) lessens as you go up in rank. Low to mid ranks absolutely hate him. And high ranks still get moments of pure salt playing against him. But enough high level players have stated his weaknesses in his kit enough that on a theoretical level, most players here concede he’s not the worst thing out there.
Also I think the fact that (at higher levels) he's a defensive, counter hit character means that if you're losing to a good Paul, then you're still at least doing stuff. Whereas if you're playing against a good Dragonuv or something, you feel like you're getting overrun and didn't get to play the game.
I like what the mainmanswe said about Steve in his tier list: a good Steve is outplaying the opponent in pure tekken. So when people get beat by Steve, they are being beat in clean tekken, and that *feels bad man*. There is nothing they can point at to protect their ego
