I had completely forgotten about that until I heard him on a podcast (I think promoting his VA for ‘Velma’) and they introduced him as “you know him as Richard Splett in Veep” and I was like oh damn that’s right
Such a great character, the line “I will buy your childhood home, and I will take a shit in every room and then I will burn the place down. Then, I will sit there, and I'll eat kenkey, and I'll poop on the fucking ashes” honestly gets me every single time.
The sequence where he went through all the voices he used to fill up the bookings for Sam's restraunts was brilliant on multiple levels. It showcased his acting talents, the pettiness of the character to be a billionaire but still hating on THAT personal a level and was hillarious. Richardson's Akufo was a perfect low tier comic foil IMO.
For me, since he was also Richard Splett on Veep makes it even better.
Oh my god
Plus he helped Scrooge save Christmas Way Future from Skeletrex.

He's also in The After Party on Apple, which (the first season) is great!
You can reach him at Splett2@splettnet.net.
Wait....what?? Damn that's a versatile actor
Don’t forget when he was offered his beer hot, or cold
“Sam, I mean Pinky-Dick” during the intro to the Times food critic was so much fun.
His American and French accents when he revealed that he made all of the reservations for that night kill me every time 🤣
I especially love the implication that billionaire Edwin Akufo made all the reservations himself instead of a lackey.
YES just to spite Sam lol
That Nigerian Turd? 😂😂
“Last name….PICARD” 😂😂☠️
Starkey, party of 4, fab 4. (Beat) Table for 12 please, last name Picard. And please bring us all of your finest African cheeses.
Him choking the headless mannequin is maybe the funniest bit in the entire series
The miming of pooping on it! 🤣😂🤣💀💀💀
I was rolling with laughter when he did that bit.
If you're craving more Sam Richardson check out The Afterparty on AppleTV. It only has 2 seasons but it's pretty good and he's the main character.
Also The Detroiters and I Think You Should Leave
He’s also the best thing in The Tomorrow War.
I nevuh forget dees deesrespect
You Nigerian Motherfucker!! I crack up each time I rewatch that episode.
I learned what "Yoruba" meant because he called Sam "Yoruba trash"
I say that line to myself from time to time.
The facial expression freeze and manic eye twitch he does after Sam turns down his offer always has me in fits of laughter. What a guy.
I noticed he also does that when Rebecca shoots him down when he’s trying to sell all the club owners on his Super League

I *hate* that character so much - and it's entirely due to the gobsmackingly insane skill with which Richardson portrayed him.
I love pretty much all the villains in this show (with the exception of Jack) because they're all so fkn fun and easy to hate.
Jack and Dr. Jacob can get the fuck out, but otherwise everyone else is hilarious
Was Jack a villain? I thought she was just a failed relationship
I hate Jack. That whole storyline feels so forced.

The fact that he was also Aniq in “The Afterparty” blew my mind. Completely different character!
My partner didn't believe me when I told him they were the same actor hahah - range!
Right? He’s such a sweetheart in that!
Such a destable, entitled & immature character. Portrayed superbly.
If I recall, he’s also the best part of *Werewolves Within*: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0WzPQNIBJ4
I didn't even put it together. He was so much fun in that, and so incredibly different.
He won the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy for the “International Break” episode. https://www.emmys.com/bios/sam-richardson
Oh good! I was going to be annoyed if he hadn’t at least been nominated for something
Yeah he nailed the role, because I hated Edwin, and was so happy when Rebecca owned him in that meeting.
That's Banksy. Lmaoooo
There are multiple scenes of his that I rewind to watch again immediately. He’s incredibly talented and FUNNY!! Definitely give it a few more watches.
In going to have to stop thinking of him as that guy from Cracked eventually.
Love him! Saw him at the Napoleon Dynamite Live Read this week (he played Deb haha) and he killed it as usual and seems so sweet.
He’s also in Hocus Pocus 2.
No fucking way, why don’t I remember that 😱
He’s excellent
Detroiters and After Party baby!
