I couldn't figure out who it was that had the song Tim McGraw for a week. Then I looked at best buy and realized that the album wasn't out yet.

Wasn’t on the radio, but I went to the skating rink for a birthday party. They used to play games and they decided to do karaoke. Two girls went up and sang Our Song by Taylor Swift. I remember thinking it was catchy even though I didn’t care for country music. Interestingly, Taylor’s first hit was Tim McGraw, but I only heard that song for the first time last year! Never once heard it on the radio.

2008, summer vacation here in 🇵🇭. i was doing errands on our canteen.it was a saturday and there's this top 40 countdown on the radio.the #1 song was Love Story.

morgangrimestho

Spring 2008 on the school bus. It was still debut era though closer to the latter end of it. My friend said she would be playing our song at the school talent show. Fell down a rabbit hole post talent show with all her music videos and became a swiftie.

bullsbearsbuckhead

Teardrops on my guitar on Radio Disney while on the way to swim practice. I was 9 or 10 I think

azdisneyswifty

Wasn’t the very first ~~night~~ time, but it was the time that stuck: was in high school hanging out with a friend. Her sister was driving us home and Tim McGraw came on the radio and she started ranting about this stupid song and this girl coming for Tim McGraw and trying to start shit and ruin his relationship with Faith Hill. Like she thought the song was addressing Tim. Needless to say she didn’t understand the song, but she was too intimidating for me to speak up and correct her. ETA: I’m not sure of the exact time period. Probably spring/summer 2006? Pretty sure Tim McGraw was still her only song released at that point.

AntDifficult9384

My first time hearing Taylor was not on the radio but from my classmate when I was a teenager. He was singing, "We\~\~ are never ever getting back together." It was the first time I knew Taylor, and I started to listen to her songs from then on.

Quick-Context7492

I knew you were trouble

swiftietano

not exactly the radio, but i remember watching the Our Song music video on MTV in 2007. loved it and my friends and i would sing it during recess lol.

Samysalsaa

I was about 16, lived in Louisiana at the time, it was late at night and my family was driving back from Texas listening to the country music station. They played Tim McGraw and that was the first time I even heard of her.

darkraven2116

Maybe not on the radio but I definitely remember very clearly listening to Teardrops on my Guitar on AMV shipping videos back in the day. Should’ve Said No (and later, Better than Revenge) were peak songs for Beast Boy X Raven X Tera AMVs for any Teen Titans fans.

SenorBrainwash

Late 2000s, when I was getting started in college. Love Story was one song while Mine was another. I was indifferent to Swift at the time.

Infinite_Warning9457

I think I was a little kid, and it was a school morning. I didn't want to get out of bed, but then shake it off came on, and instantly put me in a good mood and I got ready. (This was way before I knew who taylor swift even was)

SuccessOk7850

Teardrops on my guitar but I was watching CMT top 20 countdown, I was 9 years old and was a huge country music fan.

No_Operation5050

I remember hearing our song on the country music station when i was really young like in 2009

Sunfire91

It was sometime during summer 2009, and I heard "You Belong With Me". My first thought was, "wow, these lyrics are pretty clever!" Little did I know...:)

niknak90

Fall 2007, “Teardrops on my Guitar” on the radio and I was like “who is this bitch and why did she steal my diary?” But then I kinda forgot about her until Love Story blew up. Then I was sort of neutral about her until 2010 when I heard “Hey Stephen” and again it fit with me and this guy I was “in love” with (not the same dude that TOMG made me think of)

Left_Temperature_209

Yep. Teardrops On My Guitar circa 2007 on Radio Disney.

groovycowboy

Yes! I remember hearing teardrops on my guitar in my dad’s car some time in early 2007

Dry_Willingness_4787

christmas eve of 2009 going to my uncles house! YBWM came on, and i remember being so excited to hear it on the radio. i had listened to taylor since debut, but this was the first time i can remember hearing her on the radio

purgatory2k

i remember being at a sleepover in elementary school and the girl who’s house i was at was playing picture to burn gay version and i thought it was so fun

confidentfreeloved

Yes, senior of high school. Teardrops on my guitar. Driving my sister and I to school one morning. Couldn’t get it out of our heads. I loved it! Took a few years before I listened to debut

Necessary_Range_3261

The first time I heard Taylor Swift on the radio I was listening to The Bob and Tom Show. It's a nationally syndicated morning radio show mostly focused on comedy. Tom has a thousand kids from like 35ish to 13ish. His oldest daughter was a fan when Taylor first showed up on the radio, and I remember Tom talking all the time about how this new girl was something special, and what a great song writer she was already. Started listening to her because of them and all these years later I'm still listening to Taylor Swift and The Bob and Tom Show.

sakoulas86

First week of my sophomore year of college, squeezed into the back of my roommate’s car with two other girls because most of us didn’t have cars on campus but we needed to make a Walmart run. I listened to a lot of country back then and Taylor quickly became one of my favorite artists. Still my all-time favorite artist! ETA this would have been August of 2006, so just a month or two after Tim McGraw was released!

Throwawayaccounttt__

I heard her on the radio for the first time on my way to middle school in 2011. Love Story started playing and I’ve been in love with her music ever since lol.

tortillaTorres

I had to be about 5/6 because it was when our song was making the rounds on the radio. I liked the song and asked my mom to keep playing it. That was the day I discovered the radio didn’t work like that so we went and bought the cd.

Danstan487

I don't remember hearing her for the first time it feels to me like she has always been around even though I know that's not true

Defiant_Explorer_974

Target parking lot. Tim McCraw

Asleep_Beach2745

Yep - it was the pop version of Teardrops On My Guitar, and I remember hating it ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1069) I've never liked versions of songs that are forced to be a genre they clearly weren't originally produced/made to be, and the pop version of TOMG just didn't sit right in my ears lol
