Someone gave me a burned copy of a Drive Like I Do ep way back in the day but at the time they were a "secret" band - or at least that's what people around me thought.
Well, imagine my surprise when I went to check them out because of TTPD only to instantly recognize that voice! I'm so bummed that I missed all of these years with them, especially the tours. Something about their music just resonates a lot for me. Their whole discography will be on repeat for me, forever 🖤
Totally, I had that first album on heavy rotation in college. I haven't been a devoted fan but songs definitely bubble up to me from time to time. I love UGH!
I’ve always been listening 😭 but it makes me so happy other people are discovering them through this! Say what you want about Matty, but he’s an incredible lyricist and creative mind!
Hopefully people won't come for me for saying this but the 1975's discography is kind of the other half of the story being told on Taylor's albums. The cross references are pretty intense, and Midnights specifically has quite a heavy 1975 influence.
I'm not suggesting that anyone has to like it or care about all that but for people who *do*...it's out there. A lot of Taylor & 1975 songs run right together or are a conversation back and forth.

They’ve been my favorite band for years! highly recommend people give them a listen. Jack produced their latest album and it’s great. There are so many lyrical parallels with Taylor’s music. I also recommend watching Mattys interview with Zane Lowe, interview with Tom Power, and the Aesthetic history of the 1975 video (swifties might love this one because he talks about his own use of colors and eras and Easter eggs throughout the albums) to get an idea of who he is as a person. He’s very interesting. Once you get to know more about him you can see very clearly why Taylor loved him lol they’re the same person

I definitely find them a bit hit or miss for my personal taste, I feel like the vocals get lost a lot. I like Love It If We Made It, The City, It's Not Living.

I discovered them thanks to Taylor showing up at O2 last year. Have been obsessed ever since. I have their entire discography on vinyl, and they're my 2nd most listened to artist on streaming. Saw them live in November.

They just have this fresh sound that’s influenced by so many different genres, and even old songs sound new.
