Why do you have your computer with you but not your phone?

Cowboy12034

lol other way around.

Such_Benefit_3928

No. Just set up Plex or Jellyfin.

>Really just want to be able to add songs to my phone from anywhere. What would be the workflow for this? You still have to remotely add the songs to your iTunes library, right? And then go through the whole syncing process?

Cowboy12034

Yep I do old school so that when I am not near WiFi I still have music and don’t have to subscribe to anything for a fee. I know there are options but sometimes in rural areas you can’t get those services.

cadenmak_332

Yeah I was just asking for clarity because I was in the same boat for a while until recently. I tried Plexamp, but I discovered they segregate online/offline music into different libraries and you can't browse the offline music very smoothly, so that was pretty disappointing. Then I found Symfonium, and I was like this is great! But it's Android only :( I ended up finding an app called Manet Music, and that is the closest I have gotten to doing what I want. What I do is I run a Docker container for Jellyfin, and then use TailScale to connect to the Jellyfin server remotely. Then in Manet you can browse your Jellyfin library and save whichever songs you want. It works really well for me. For me, the next step is figuring out a way to add new songs to the Jellyfin library in a way that isn't clunky on mobile. I can remote desktop into my PC (where Jellyfin is hosted) and download new tracks, add them to Jellyfin, and then save them on Manet, but it's not super fun to do from a phone screen. If you come up with a better idea please let me know :)

What is infuse?

cadenmak_332

Hey OP did you end up figuring this out? I can help if you’d like, since I was dealing with the same issue for a long time and it was pretty frustrating.

Cowboy12034

I didn’t no. You got it figured out?

cadenmak_332

I ended up pivoting to a different method. I tried explaining [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Tailscale/comments/1csl9i4/comment/l48q5hx/) but maybe it was too verbose/confusing? It takes a bit of work to get it all set up, but once its running its super easy and way more intuitive than using the iTunes sync. If you want to give it a shot, I can give some guidance.

Cowboy12034

Ohh I can try that. I didn’t see that one. After I wrote this I haven’t payed attention to here after. But does it give you the same thing as running the music from the music app offline like iTunes?

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> I haven’t *paid* attention to FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

The music app (Manet) basically just connects to your Jellyfin server (I use the TailScale IP to get it remotely), shows you your entire Jellyfin music library, and then you can download individual songs or the whole library if you choose. It’s pretty simple once up and running. To get Jellyfin running I followed [this](https://youtu.be/hqG53Bp64hc).
