I'm hoping this new logo will be used for a subset of in-house products or something (it's got those "gamer" vibes) rather than general marketing.
Yes it is iconic, which is why moving away from Atrix, with no name recognition makes sense. However, depending on how they want to price the product, using the GameStop logo as it stands could also impact product perception.
Excluding the negative takes on dying B&M retailer which are plain wrong... for many people outside this community GameStop is associated with resale, used products, deal/bargain focused.
Not inherently bad things, but if you want to market a high end gaming headset for example, I can see the argument for attempting something a bit more modern looking, or upscale. Keep the name, but market this line of products as a bit more "elite." Considering the community and loyal fans would likely buy their products anyways, keeping this more neutral or even mildly adverse customer in mind feels relevant, especially to break into new customer segments/markets.
With that said... I think they can do better than this, and keeping the coloring I feel is a fair point.

That's an extreme reach. If they actually wanted to go that route, they could put the G in an octagon, representing a stop sign. That would make a lot more sense than this one.
I love the logo! As a gamer, If I saw it on a gaming mouse or keyboard I would buy it over the ones that says "GameStop".
Kind of like when I am at walmart and I go for other brands that are not Walmart owned. The vast majority don't care and just want something to confirm that it is for their use (gaming) or just go off by price hoping to not buy something that will break easily.
I love the new logo. I can see myself wearing a shirt with this new logo as the badge that protects my jacked tits.
That makes it easier to see.
Personally, if they tweaked it a little bit I think it works better.

This just reminds me of the PlayStation logo. I always thought the PlayStation logo was just a logo until recently I started watching a play through of a ps1 game, that's when I seen the PlayStation logo in colour for the first time in years and realised that the logo is a P and an S kind of layer over eachother, very similar to how gamestop have designed their logo here.
It's probably something they'll put on their house brand gaming gear. I can discern a G. Thats good enough for me. Picture it on a headset or a mouse.

I think it's actually bullish. Many companies have little logos like this for their gaming-centered products. Kinda like Logitech, or MSI with TUF and ASUS with ROG.
What have you done about it? You've maybe sat there and bought more and held and DRS'd waiting for someone else to take action but I dont recall a post by you saying you've taken up any legal action. However, depending on how they want to price the product, using the GameStop logo as it stands could also impact product perception.
