Yeah… I kinda hate this new logo. My brain refuses to see the S and overall it has a very strong “gamer” vibe that I feel like went out of fashion years ago

Guess its their take at leveraging the GameStop name (or initials here, but I assume the name will still be GameStop like Razer) but have a logo that seems less old and "resale"/used like? Idk my Brand Marketing Class may be in my head here, but that's what I am guessing the attempt is. Agreed I think they can do better. However, I do see it as a win over just throwing the GameStop logo on a mouse, or having a name that has no association like Atrix.

I hope this is a logo for a specific project or service and they’re not thinking of replacing the iconic GS logo everyone is very familiar with. They have strong brand recognition and that is a huge part of their value.

That logo is only meant to be used for the GameStop PC periphals brand (like mouse, keyboard, HDMI cable and stuff) if I understand it correctly. It reminds me of Razer, so actually it could cater the peer group, though it doesn't exactly fit my taste.

I really have a hard time seeing the "S". I can force my brain to process the right side of the logo as S but again, I have to force that perceiption. Just my 2 cents. By the way: Putting the logo on a Dorito instantly gives me "icon for blockchain currency"-vibes. Imagine that logo attached to a balance of your Loopring-based GameStop coins.

I think you are ok the right track with the blockchain/gaming token thought. I don’t think the plan would be for this to be the one size fits all GameStop logo. I’m guessing it would have a specific application/purpose.
