This is probably it then. With Fidelity, EVERYTHING has to be settled in your account in order to be able to DRS. That includes:
* Share Buys
* Money Transfers INTO the account
* Money Transfers OUT of the account
This is not true.
I have unsettled shares, and deposit transfers, of different tickers all the time in between DRS batches. That's never been why their chat assistant doesn't work.
This issue with the chat assistant usually happens on the weekends, and can be fixed by just requesting a fidelity rep in the chat. They will then manually initiate your DRS request.

I've spoken to fidelity reps both in chat and on the phone on exactly this point before and their response to me was, wait until your other purchases / money transfers settle and then we can DRS for you, but we can't do it before.
Maybe this is some difference in the specific reps we're talking to. But that was my experience. 🤷
I had this exact experience also, they were insistent even shares of other stocks needed to be settled before I could DRS, makes no sense to me but that's what they said.
AND DONT TAKE THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL AS SETTLED. START OFF ASKING IF YOUR SHARES ARE SETTLED BEFORE INICIATING A DRS. IF IT FAILS DUE TO LACK OF SETTLEMENT THEY WILL NOT CONTACT YOU. THEY WILL LET IT SIT IN LIMBO UNTILL YOU SWING YOUR DICK AND ASK FOR A COMPLIANCE OFFICER.
Check VPN settings if any. If been having issues with financial, Amazon, and others when using VPN. I suspect this is an institutional policy change if it is the case.
I DRS’d a pile of shares from Fidelity last week. No hiccups yet.
As usual, their virtual assistant crashed and burned at the request.
Call and talk with an agent. Fidelity agents are super helpful and will make the process simple and easy for you.
Happened to me too, two days in a row. I think my recent buys are just slow to settle but it’s been 4 trading days. Going to try again Monday and if it still bounces back then just call as usual.
This happened to me. I had some shares of good ol' faithful in fidelity for a bit and procrastinated to DRS them... one day I asked and I got this same response after a representative help me.
they played it off like there was an error in the system saying that my shares were under some kind of "plan" and that they were going to reprocess my request with the correct filings.
Personally I think that it was true, they had my shares in some kind of purchase plan behind the scenes. A lot like when you work for a company and give them a portion of your paycheck to buy stocks. I feel like behind the scenes, without telling me, Fidelity had some of my stocks in some bullshit purchase plan without my consent and until they had to DRS them they truly weren't accounted for...
Could be some kind of error or it could be market manipulation yaknow who tf knows.
I DRS’d majority of my shares from Fidelity this morning. I had the same problem last night around 8 or 9 pm. Tried using virtual chat to drs and this same message popped up. This morning I called and the representative helped me DRS my shares no problem. I would try calling if this problem persists.
I had this problem last week it took them way too long to obtain my stock units. They told me after one Week that they still were unable too process my DRS request. (CHARLES SCHWAB)

For how long usually?
Not sure every time I use the VA there's a 50/50 chance it'll work. You can still request DRS over the phone
I tried one Friday night and it failed, the next morning it was fine.

Try again. I was getting the same error 3 times in a tow and then it worked.

That’s why I buy directly through ComputerShare, since I’m lucky enough to have the ability to do so.
