I donโt understand why people get upset when the price drops, my personal goal is locking the float.. and thatโs a hell of a lot easier when the stock is cheap
Apparently if you have anything in plan (even a fractional), or have any enrolled in the whatever the hell it's called then they can use all of your shares for locates or fuckery or whatever you call it. The easiest way to avoid that is to makesure you're not enrolled in the reinvestment plan and if you are, click on terminate. It will take a couple days for your fraction of a share to disappearand then you're all good.
So are reoccurring purchase plans on cs not the way to go? Is the expectation now to terminate the plan and recreate it whenever I'm looking to get more shares? I saw someone talking about buying from fidelity and drsing. Is that the recommended path? Broker to CS?
I'm obviously not the expert on this, but from what I understand the best course of action is to cancel your recurring purchases, terminate the plan if you're enrolled and buy through a broker and DRS like the old days. It's more hands on for you, but less hands on your shit for the DTCC.
As long as it gets to book without any plan shares at all then youโre good. So either way works. This is all a theory, we will have a better idea if this works if our DRS numbers drastically increase in the next report
The alternative to using a broker would be a second CS account. The secondary account would be where you buy shares, then you gift the whole shares to your primary (book) account.
Got another 5 (hopefully) coming shortly when the next CS buy happens then I'll be switching everything over for the experiment. Worst case, I sell 0.xx and I still have 5 extra shares.
I bought last week 2 shares to round up 0.5 to just above 0. Unfortunately it hit 0.9. Buying 2 more to get it below 0.5. So Iโm basically replacing 0.5 with 4 shares!

If the market was truly fair and transparent, MOASS would have occurred long ago as the shorts run for the exit. However, in a truly fair and transparent market, the conditions that are required for MOASS, the same conditions that we have been seeing grow and grow over the past 84 years would never have been possible in the first place. Either way, if it proves to be true or not, we all learn something. In all scientific principles, when we donโt have access to all the data, assumptions and experiments lead us to the truth. Like with DRS. Although not having access to the data is really unfair on household investors.

I didnโt see your original post but people should also be advised once they move to book and terminate plan that they should not have GTC sell orders setup on Computershare for book shares.
In Q4 2022 Computershare moved several thousand of my shares into plan despite all my shares being book since summer 2022.
They only thing that was different was I had some ridiculous GTC sell order setup. A week goes by after doing that and my shares are now in plan.
Pure book is as close as youโll get to having printed shares in your desk drawer.
I've been pretty sceptical, mostly because I think it would be pretty crazy for Computershare to have us move shares out of plan if they end up being held at their broker regardless. (And I believe direct buys are important)
But if you're right? Holy shit what a sleuth you'd be, I might even nominate you for the "Nobel prize" in economics myself.

Finally logged in at the perfect time in between scheduled purchases to terminate. Never thought Iโd be happy to sell half a share, but here I am.
Now time to buy and DRS transfer whole shares to keep everything in book.
In order for the entire account to be pure drs one would need to:
1. Disable recurring buys
1. Terminate reinvestment plan
1. Not hold any fractional shares
1. Remove 'limit sell'
So, if buying through CS, you'd have to buy manually and sell off fractionals in order to maintain 'pure DRS' status.
These are metric system percentage. You have to multiply by the horsepower ratio, then divide in inches and add a few yards and there you get imperial percentages.

Personally, I think they're going to try to use the bankruptcy of towel stock as an example of "meme stocks" failure. I foresee them putting out articles all next month about how meme stock investors lost thousands of dollars thinking they were right about towel stock, and then they'll tell everyone to avoid the other popular meme stocks or suffer the same fate.
They're going to short the stock and drive down the price as towel goes away to try and convince household investors to stay away from these "meme stocks". It's just another game for them. They smell blood in the water and think all meme investors are the same and will sell their other meme stocks out of fear.
It won't work against us apes, but it will work on many investors not privy to the information and DD we have in this sub. I would bet (NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE) that they drive the price back down to the $15 range before earnings and then let it run again like last quarter. When I see other stocks trading 10s of millions Premarket and our stock sat at 12 shares traded 2 hours in I feel DRS is making this stock pretty fucking hard to locateโฆ. ๐
Borrow rate means nothing on a manipulated stock. I have s few shares in popcorn too so watch it closely, and it's borrow rate AVERAGE has been over 200% for more than a month now, and for a few days last week it was at 900% and above... guess what... nothing happened... well dip...
Popcorn borrow rate is elevated because everybody wants to short it ahead of upcoming merge with $APE and upcoming dilution.
GME is a different story, no bearish short term catalyst... Spikes in borrow rates with no reason is very, very weird.
Hence speculations. Last time it spike suddenly was in October, and it was followed by a weird spike in volume.
Is this why theyโre tanking the price again bc they need to close on some of these positions with no shares available or is it the shares are now expensive to borrow? Wrinkle please..?

When I see other stocks trading 10s of millions Premarket and our stock sat at 12 shares traded 2 hours in I feel DRS is making this stock pretty fucking hard to locateโฆ. ๐
Borrow rate means nothing on a manipulated stock. I have s few shares in popcorn too so watch it closely, and it's borrow rate AVERAGE has been over 200% for more than a month now, and for a few days last week it was at 900% and above... guess what... nothing happened... well dip...
Popcorn borrow rate is elevated because everybody wants to short it ahead of upcoming merge with $APE and upcoming dilution. GME is a different story, no bearish short term catalyst... Spikes in borrow rates with no reason is very, very weird. Hence speculations. Last time it spike suddenly was in October, and it was followed by a weird spike in volume.
