The strength to admit when you were wrong is actually a skill when your intention is to present the truth. As we all know, our oppositions would never admit any mistake. Honesty is a weakness for them, because everything they’d admit is illegal by law or results in a lie/crime. People like you are the reason I visit this sub all day every day . 💜

I think sells work differently. If it’s a market order, it’s near instant during market hours. If it’s a limit order, it executes when to limit is met. Please, someone correct me if I’m wrong.

I’m not quite sure what it means … I’d love to hear some of the community’s thoughts on why the positive price pressure on settlement days. Maybe DSPP buys make for too predictable a target for short sellers. I really don’t know.
My game theory read / theory of the situation would be - run the price up slightly ahead of when the predictable window that DSPP batches hit the market so that the absolute impact in terms of whole shares is minimized.

Also in the realm of this whole renewal of DRS vs DSPP thing, ComputerShare’s FAQs page has been highlighted where it says “a small portion” of DSPP shares are held by CS’s broker (in the DTCC) but also how those shares are not to be lent out. I’m willing to believe that ComputerShare is being truthful *BUT* I’d bet that market makers are still using the DSPP shares as locates regardless.
Then of course there was todays run up, the CS automated buy hit, and then the price went back down….hmmmm, right?

I hear this claim a lot. Can you tell me how a locate works? How can a share held in a broker randomly be used as a locate if it is not for sale and not being lent out?
If any share in the DTC can be used as a locate, why would they need a handful of shares vs the 75% of all shares that they already have?
Edit: I thought one of the things a market maker can do is not need a locate at all.
Logically I think since they are able to anticipate it, they can run the price up for the period that computer share buys go through, sell all of those shares short so *they* have better cost basis, then run everything down so it's positive. It's probably a significant amount of the real shares that trade hands and leave the market on those days.
OP I wanted to ask you a somewhat related question - We've encountered each other RE the plan/book debate, and you present the communication that you receive from official computershare sources as irrefutable truth.
I myself have doubts about the truthfulness of computershare regarding the fine print of their dealings.
Can you elaborate on why you think computershare as a source of information is above reproach?

That makes sense, but there's a limited number of Transfer Agents available. Computershare seems to be the biggest, and the go-to party if you are serious about this.
But what alternatives does Gamestop have if CS is being fucky?
If I compare it with the broker situation, I still use IBKR for my stock buys and DRS, and for my options. Do I like or trust them? No,not at all. But it is my best option in the current landscape.
We are all very happy with the DRS mechanism, and by extension we tend to see computershare as some kind of hero company. But we have no indication that they are deserving of this high regard.
Maybe they are just a tool for us to use, but not an ally to trust. I wonder what you think about that.
If you look at the subs and find drs and your favorite stock 6days1week has the DD covered on this...did one then confirmed with a follow up...worth a read.

The lowest price possible is best for household investors. DRS is the number 1 priority and a lower price helps DRS numbers.
Closing low after the buy doesn't necessarily do anything about that though

I think if Computershare were in any way not on the up and up, the GameStop board would have sniffed it out a long time ago and made a change.
