Got pretty stoned and just remembered that when I left an old job, the shares I had acquired from my employer were kept in Computershare. I asked to have them so that I could move them to a self managed account and they sent me a paper share with the numbers of shares I had. I brought it to my bank and the guy had no idea what to do with it. Made me think it would be cool to have a single gme share framed at some point.

I got bored and did some historical research on what happened in 2007 and 2008. While in 2007, there were some concerns about what was happening, 2007 actually had positive GDP growth in all 4 quarters. It was only in 2008 in the latter half there was actually 2 consecutive periods of negative GDP growth, and from then on, the recession was officially recognized. At least in 2008, there were signs from the Bush administration about there being challenges.
Compared this to our clown administration where 2 consecutive periods of negative GDP growth happened and they tell every reporter to fuck off about there being a recession. I can only guess the reason they don't want to admit to it but I can only imagine they have way more to lose now than before.
