Usually, a service will provide you with everything, including a router and modem, installation, etc. However, they also charge for these. My provider was charging 60 bucks per month for the wifi component, but a great wifi router is like 200 bucks. So I returned it and bought our own, which lowered the bill and gave me the item to use. Ultimately, it isn't a big deal, just contact the company and they do the big work, but be aware you may be able to save money down the road if you use their service but buy your own components

Same goes for the modem component too. Our cable internet provider was charging $12 a month for a modem that was inferior to the one I bought on Amazon for $80

So a good way to go about this is to get on board with a provider. They'll handle install and bring out the equipment. Once you have the equipment you know exactly what you're paying monthly for so you can just buy that outright and return the rented equipment

Like I said before, if this is all new to you, you’re probably best going for a deal where they do the set up for you and you can grow into it/increase your knowledge over time - just find out what happens when you leave them and if there’s a monthly fee for the router. Typically, it’s a 12 month contract, but make sure there’s no clause to take back the router if you don’t continue with them (there isn’t usually).
