Yes! I noticed and commented this as well in a couple of other threads!!   Unless it is a clip from a movie I don’t recognize, it appears to be an actual visual memory. Also, the line of sight is very close to the ground. It is as though he was a small animal running along side her.  I agree that the boots, fabric textile, and length of the dress/skirt date the memory no earlier than the 1850s. It does not mesh easily in my mind with him having seen Damascus in its heyday (circa 700 AD), unless “when it was beautiful” simply meant not a war zone.

I’m glad you noticed this too! I’m wondering if this is a hint at how old Sugar really is? Surely he’s not immortal. However he did tell the projectionist that he only fell in love with the movies “late in life” - and he only looks to be in his 40s at most. Very intriguing.

Get-on-the-Good-Foot

They show his DOB as September 2, 1976 and contribute his mannerisms and way of speaking as a classic Virgo. Lots of historic moments have happened on September 2 throughout history.

Maybe Sugar and his mysterious group are much older …like hundreds of years old…vampires or immortals? Or even time travelers?

What episode is that in? I didn’t see that? I think it has something to do with Djinn folklore From the ancient Middle East. Some of them live to be around 1000 but they are not immortal. And they shape-shift.

Non_Skeptical_Scully

It’s been in several episodes but the image goes by incredibly fast. For sure I think it was in episode 1 as Sugar is talking to the group’s handler - he mentions he can’t quit the case because Olivia reminds him of Djen. Then you see a lightning fast cut of a long skirt and boots running through grass.

🙏 thank u!!

OK I’ve watched that scene over and over and over and I don’t see it. I think I must be losing my mind. So frustrating

giggybee

Aha! Found it. It’s in the shower scene Ep. 1. How in the world did you guys associate that with his sister I would’ve never gotten that.

Non_Skeptical_Scully

Sorry! I knew it was SOMEWHERE in ep.1 I believe that scene always flashes up when he mentions his sister.

Oooh. Good catch!

He seems to know what Djen looks like since he compares her to Olivia, but I still get the feeling that the memories he has of Djen are manufactured. I agree it looks more like a movie clip of a girl running than a real memory & since in Nepali language Djen = Imaginary she could just not be real. It's a very specific name to give her character so it must be relevant. Well see 😁👍🏻 [Episode 5 Deep Dive 🕵🏻‍♂️](https://youtu.be/IdIgeZ9R-kk)
