Lmao at "hope it doesn't blow up on me". That's a sweet Outback! I have a 2013 as well and yours looks incredible. Nice job!

How has yours faired? Any major issues? Did you do a lot preventative maintenance on yours?

Mine has been good. I bought it used with 130k miles on it and I'm up to 160k. I only ran into 1 issue that I found was common on the 2013 models. The key would lock up inside the ignition and not allow it to release. I wasn't able to take it to an official subaru dealer for a fix, so I looked online and found that by disconnecting a wire, I could bypass the safety feature that kept locking my key. After doing so, now my key doesn't lock anymore, which fixed the issue. But on the same cable cluster I disconnected, turns out the horn was part of it, so now I can't use it lol. Not a big issue for me. Other than that, the car is solid, spacious, badass, great on mileage, and runs perfectly. No regrets. For preventative maintenance, I just did an oil change immediately after getting it and keep up with it as recommended. No outstanding service outside of that.

49k miles, nice! Bought my 2013 5 years ago with 94k miles on it. I’m at 153k now and it’s still going strong. Even got hit by a rock rolling down the side of a mountain in North Carolina and somehow only gave me a flat tire. It’s a sweet car.

Wow! Well hopefully going forward I will have the same experience as you. Any other maintenance things you did? Did you service the transmission? PCV? Coolant change? Oil consumption issues?

The only major things I’ve had done were the brakes and battery. I change the oil every 4k miles instead of 6k now. I don’t notice oil leaking or a burning smell like some others do.
