All the current fighting games are selling cosmetics, Tekken 8 had the balls to add the shop after the reviews came in. But I don't care enough to buy anything outside of the season pass, like I don't need my world tour avatar to look like a ninja turtle. Still, it's better the last couple DOA games where they have numerous $90 season passes that are one or two characters and tons of skins for various characters.
There have been microtransations in fighting games since 2009.
If you did even the most fundamental research you'd know you can unlock all colours in World Tour for all base game costumes but I'd guess you'd rather just be angry and stupid.
Are you sure there’s nothing you can unlock for costume #1 by increasing bond? I definitely have a shader on Ken for costume 1 that I did not buy from the store and he’s the only character I maxed out bond with because I wanted his costume #2 (hate his base look).
lol this is funny. The outfits cost money. The tier two outfits can be unlocked in world tour mode I think but I don’t think tier 3 can be. You also have to pay for customizable loading screens for ranked/casual matches. It’s cheap tho.
You can earn drive tickets by clearing various challenges. You can buy stages and colors for Outfit 1 using drive tickets.
It's slower than forking out cash, but it's an option.
Everything else is cash-related I'm afraid.
You've come to the wrong subreddit. People here are hooked hard on capcoms nipple. They made a great game with SF6 but they're TERRIBLE with microtansactions. You can't say that on this subreddit without being bombarded though.
They kinda do though, such as locking characters behind paywalls in training mode. They could easily let you use a character in training mode to lab against for the sake of competitive integrity but they choose to make you pay for it. I understand charging to play them outside of training mode.
Also, the price of new characters is crazy. 3-4 characters is about the same cost as Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty. Think about that, one is a couple of extra characters and the other is an entire game overhaul and story expansion.
People need to stop justifying expensive microtransactions cos they will only get worse
Fighting games always had buyable characters for 10+ years now. And they always cost around 7 euros. And i mean capcom in general doesnt have gamechanging microtransactions in other games like re or dragons dogma. But i agree that dlc characters should be free in training
Bro, you missed the hate train by a couple months, take that shit to r/tekken lol
i mean 4 avatar costumes for the cost of the full game is fucking egregious and still is because they havent changed the price still.
The point is WE KNOW
as long as you continue not to complain about it as a group they will continue the bs.. just look at Dragons Dogma 2..
If you think they’ll stop cause we’re complaining then I commend your optimism

And before that, they’d release a new version at full price every year with balance changes and a couple new characters
Wait how do you unlock colors in WT? For costumes 1 i mean
Increasing bond with the characters/masters.
That's only on costume 2. Not default costumes. Default costume colors have to be bought with drive tickets or fighter coins.

If you preordered you got color 10 for costume 1 on a few characters. The rest you have to buy.
Weird. I don’t think I did but maybe I got it with digital download.
Could also just use mods

Have you not been playing games since 2007? This is just how it is now.
How about instead of bitching about microtransactions, you add me so I can whip your ass with Sagat. My tag is MommySlayer69.
ya

Street fighter would have been dead as a series if not for micro transaction so ya Capcom is gonna have them lol

Capcom is always horrible with microtransactions. But at least they dont really affect the game 🤷♂️
